SOUTH PARIS, Maine – To say that Travis Stearns was disappointed with the way his first full season on the ACT Late Model Tour started would be an understatement of epic proportions.

But after finishing fifth in the People’s United Bank 100 at Devils Bowl Speedway in West Haven, Vt., on Sunday, June 30, the Auburn, Maine, driver thinks that his Richard Green Racing team has finally started to show signs that a big summer lies ahead.

Waterford Speedbowl has announced a schedule change for its Wednesday, July 3 Wild ‘n Wacky racing program. The original schedule for the event included a fireworks display to conclude the night’s activities. The fireworks have been moved to the
July 31 Wild ‘n Wacky Wednesday program due to circumstances out of track
management’s control.

“We regret to inform fans of this news” offered Speedbowl owner and promoter Terry Eames. “We received word that we are unable to have fireworks for our July 3 program. However, we are committed to providing our Wednesday fans with a fireworks show. We’ve announced July 31 as the new date for the show.”

A persistent drizzle and a forecast for heavy rains forced Thompson Speedway management to cancel the race program for Thursday, June 27. Racing will return to the historic 5/8ths mile oval on Thursday, July 11.

NEW ENGLAND MOTORSPORTS NORTH 7-3-2013

Thunder Road International Speedbowl officials have announced the rescheduling of the Harvest Equipment and the Fairpoint Communications rained-out events as special Sunday evening shows.

The Harvest Equipment event, which was originally scheduled for Sunday, June 16 has been rescheduled for Sunday, August 4. The Fairpoint Communications event, from Thursday, June 27, will be on Sunday, August 18. Both shows will feature racing action from the Thunder Road Late Models, Bond Auto Tiger Sportsmen and the Allen Lumber Street Stocks with 6 p.m. post times.

PASS Race At Anderson Motor Speedway Cancelled Due To Rain

PASS RacingThe PASS race at Anderson Speedway scheduled for Wednesday, July 3 has been cancelled due to a forecast of 70% chance of thunder showers and periods of heavy rain for both Wednesday and Thursday. We felt it was in everyone’s best interest to cancel early to avoid unnecessary travel inconveniences for all.

WEST HAVEN, Vt. – Emily Packard of East Montpelier, Vt., posted a career-best finish in the Vermont State Championship Late Model Series on Sunday, June 30, finishing seventh in the People’s United Bank 100 at Devil’s Bowl Speedway in West Haven, Vt. The finish was the best of her career for Packard at Devil’s Bowl, where she finished 10th in ACT Late Model Tour competition earlier this season. Packard qualified inside the Top-10 and was running comfortably inside the Top-5 when she was spun from behind on Lap 28. She pitted for minor repairs and then restarted at the rear of the field, battling up through the pack with the No. 9 Northstar Fireworks/Berlin Optical Expressions Chevrolet to finish seventh following a green-white-checkered restart.

MULKERN RACING: Bobby Timmons Finishes 3rd In Pro Series 100 At Beech Ridge

timmons VL BRMSSCARBOROUGH, Maine – Bobby Timmons III of Windham, Maine, finished a career-best third in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Pro Series 100 at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough, Maine, on Saturday, June 29. Timmons started seventh in his second career start in the marquee event of the season for the Pro Series division, and he patiently logged laps inside the Top-10 until first cracking the Top-5 at the 75-lap mark. He capitalized on a late-race restart to gain much-needed track position and pull out the podium finish. It was the first race in a four-day span for the driver of the Mulkern Racing No. 48 Southern Maine Chrysler Dodge Jeep/Timmons Machine Dodge, as Timmons returns to Beech Ridge for the Miller Lite 50 on Tuesday, July 2.

NAUGHTY 40 RACING: McKeage Finishes 6th In Pro Series 100 At Beech Ridge

mckeage sportsmanSCARBOROUGH, Maine – Dan McKeage of Gorham, Maine, finished sixth in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Pro Series 100 at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough, Maine, on Saturday, June 29. McKeage pitted on multiple occasions to make chassis adjustments on the Naughty 40 Racing No. 40 Top Gun Construction Chevrolet and work his way into the Top-10 in the late going. On a final green-white-checkered restart, McKeage got a good restart on the outside lane and was able to fight his way up to sixth at the finish. The team discovered a mechanical issue on the rear end of the car during the post-race, and hope that repairs there will have them back up to speed for the Miller Lite 50 at Beech Ridge on Tuesday, July 2.
