Jesse Melberg picked up his sixth win of the 2012 season at Seekonk Speedway, closing out the Fast Friday series with his first career championship in the Pure Stocks. Tim Demarderosian took the lead on the opening circuit of the 25 lap main, and held on for the first few circuits until he was caught up in an incident, eliminating him, Earl Curtin, John Robidoux and Bill Doyle.
Amy Arsenault took over at the helm, and set the pace for the half dozen laps while Melberg worked his way 3 wide to the battle at the top of the leader board. When they crossed the line for lap 10, the Champion found himself out front, and from there, never backed down. Amy held on to the second position until Chris Lima moved past with a handful of laps remaining. Arsenault wound up third, with Randy Moretti and Jamie Salley fourth and fifth. (more…)
GORDON WILL LEAD THE FIELD TO GREEN IN SYLVANIA 300 AT NEW HAMPSHIRE
EARNS FOURTH CAREER POLE AT NHMS
Jeff Gordon, driver of the No. 24 Drive To End Hunger Chevrolet, will lead the field to the green in Sunday’s Sylvania 300 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Round 28 on the tour and the second stop of the 10-race Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup. Gordon posted a lap of 28.232 seconds, 134.911 mph to capturing the 72nd pole of his Cup career in 681 starts and fourth pole award at NHMS. This is Gordon’s second pole of 2012 and his 12th start from inside the top-10 this season.
Defending NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Tony Stewart qualified third in his No. 14 Mobil 1/Office Depot Chevrolet, which will mark the 18th time he has started in the top-10 at NHMS. Fellow driver and defending NHMS winner, Kasey Kahne, No. 5 Farmers Insurance Chevrolet qualified sixth. (more…)

Brian Hoar of Williston, Vt., returns to New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, N.H., for the fourth annual Bond Auto ACT Invitational on Saturday, September 22. Hoar, a former track record holder at New England’s largest speedway, will join 42 other drivers from the ACT Late Model Tour, ACT Castrol Series and weekly Late Model divisions from across the northeast and Canada for the 50-lap All-Star event. Hoar finished fifth in the event last season in the RPM Motorsports No. 37 GossCars.com Dodge Charger, just one month removed from winning the only ACT Late Model Tour points race ever contested at The Magic Mile. The race is part of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Sylvania 300 weekend at the track and is one of four races to be held as part of the Saturday program. (more…)
Five-time champion takes the pole for Sunday’s SYLVANIA 300
LOUDON, N.H. (Sept. 21, 2012) – Looks like Jeff Gordon has put Chicagoland firmly in the rearview mirror.
Less than a week after a 35th-place finish appeared to abandon any momentum Gordon established at the end of the regular season, the five-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion has officially inserted himself back into the Chase for the championship mix. (more…)
Speedway to once again host races in July, September next season
LOUDON, N.H. (Sept. 21, 2012) – New Hampshire Motor Speedway officials announced this morning that the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will return for two races in 2013, with the first race scheduled for July 14 and the second for Sept. 22.
The SYLVANIA 300, the second race in NASCAR’s Chase for the Sprint Cup championship, is still two days away, but “The Magic Mile” is already looking forward to next year. (more…)
Oktoberfest, Lee USA Speedway’s traditional season ending weekend racing bash, will commence on October 19th through the 21st. Over 300 cars from all over the northeast are expected to compete in the 12 divisions of race cars that will be featured. Last year seven states and several Canadian provinces were represented, the farthest coming from Nova Scotia. This year, three series championships will be decided, and for the rest, bragging rights throughout the winter will be on the line. Everyone wants to win their Oktoberfest feature event.
More importantly however, Oktoberfest is about fun for all. A full itinerary of social events will complement the non-stop racing action throughout the weekend. A Friday night Beer Bash will follow practice for all divisions from 3PM to 7PM. Breakfast will be offered on both Saturday and Sunday mornings. Also, on Friday and Saturday nights, there will be hay rides for kids big and small. Then after Saturday’s heat race action, another Lee USA Oktoberfest tradition, the Spaghetti Supper with a DJ and dancing until late into the night. The Texas Roadhouse North East Mini Stock Tour made its return to Canaan Fair Speedway for the first time in two years on a cold windy morning Sunday. The race at Canaan marked the ninth event in the 2012 NEMST points championship. The top 2 cars entered the event with a mere 13 point separation with Danny Field holding onto the lead after the last race at Lee USA.
Practice started shortly after noon with Matt Sonnhalter breaking out as the fastest car on the track and leaving fellow drivers in his tracks. Sonnhalter pushed his Volkswagen down into the 16 second lap times, the only car during the day to achieve that speed. (more…)

Hometown racing veteran takes win at Canaan Fair Speedway
CANAAN, NH — Hometown stock car racer Donnie Lashua took the lead from polesitter Cory Roberts on lap 39 to score his first career Granite State Pro Stock Series win Sunday in the 100-lap event at Canaan Fair Speedway.
Lashua started third in the 18-car field and patiently rode behind Roberts for the first third of the race. The veteran Lashua was able to work inside of Roberts and snag the lead for the remainder of the race, but had to hold him off on three late race restarts. (more…)
Hudson NH – Geoff Rollins padded his points lead with a win in the Outlaw Sportsman division at Hudson International Speedway on Sunday afternoon September 16th. Kevin Aberle led the first few laps until Rollins made his way up from his fifth starting spot to take the lead. Rollins had to contend with a very fast Jay Maki in the mid-point of the race but Maki faded and Rollins cruised to victory after that. Following Rollins were Kevin Kephart, Todd Warren, Dave Blanchard and Matt Bosowski.
Nick Dombroski won the B and L Used Auto Parts Thunder Lights. Dombroski started 3rd on the grid and was in first place before lap one was completed. Dombroski was chased the entire caution-free race by Andrew Morin but Morin wasn’t able to mount a challenge and had to settle for second. Kris Schroeder was third followed by Max Chaput and Jarrett Howard. (more…)
