Thompson, CT (August 11, 2011): The Late Model division took the center stage at Thompson International Speedway on Thursday Night with their 40-lap extra distance race and Tommy O’Sullivan of Springfield, MA, was the star. Woody Pitkat of Stafford, CT, returned to top-form and to victory lane in the Sunoco Modifieds. Andy Lindeman of Poestenkill, NY, was tops in the touring New England Truck Series. Derek Ramstrom of Worcester, MA scored his fourth win of the season in the Super Late Models.

FRANCHITTI, DIXON LEAD OPENING PRACTICES AT NEW HAMPSHIRE
LOUDON, N.H. (Thursday, August 11, 2011) – Dario Franchitti and other IZOD IndyCar Series drivers have set their sights on the Indy car track record at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. He had a quick lap of 21.5665 seconds (171.099 mph) on the 1.025-mile oval to top practice Aug. 11 for the MoveThatBlock.com Indy 225.
The Indy car lap record is 21.466 seconds by Andre Ribeiro (Ana Beatriz’s manager) in qualifying on Aug. 19, 1995. The IZOD IndyCar Series track record is 21.719 seconds by Richie Hearn in 1996 – the first of three times the series raced at then-New Hampshire International Speedway.

Eddie MacDonald and Joey Laquerre Take ACT Late Model Challenge Front Row at New Hampshire Motor Speedway
Loudon, NH – Eddie MacDonald of Rowley, Massachusetts and Joey Laquerre of East Montpelier, Vermont will sit on the front row in the first segment of the American Canadian Tour Late Model Challenge at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Saturday, August 13. MacDonald earned a +14 and Laquerre picked up a +11 in ACT’s unique plus/minus handicap system.

Friday, August 19th with the 18th Annual Late Model 100, Late Model points
leader Ryan Posocco will be looking to add another extra distance title to
his resume. Posocco has enjoyed previous success in extra distance events,
winning 100 and 150 lap events in 2003 and winning the 100 lap event again
in 2006, but he has been shut out from victory lane in the extra distance
races since the 2006 victory. Posocco is hungry to once again win the
biggest Late Model race of the season and he is also looking to give his #48
Davidson Company team their first win in an extra distance event as well.

Airborne plans 6 hour Endurance Race
South Plattsburgh, NY – Airborne Speedway will conduct a 6 hour Endurance Race for properly equipped four-cylinder and six-cylinder cars Sunday, September 18 from 12-6 p.m. Teams must consist of a minimum of three drivers and a maximum of six drivers.
The car that completes the most laps wins and earns $1,500. Second-place pays $750. There is no minimum or maximum pit stop requirement.

LOUDON, N.H. (Aug. 11, 2011) – At speeds of up to 200 mph, race fans will see one of the most diverse starting line-ups in the world when the IZOD IndyCar Series stars race into New Hampshire Motor Speedway for the MoveThatBlock.com INDY 225 on Sunday.
The series’ drivers represent 13 different countries and yesterday Brazilian racers Helio Castroneves, Tony Kanaan and Ana Beatriz joined NHMS executive vice president and general manager Jerry Gappens for some Brazilian style dining at the Muqueca Restaurant in Cambridge, Mass.
