(Stafford Springs, CT)—Stafford Motor Speedway has announced that they
will broadcast their SK Modified® division on the Connecticut Sports Network
(CTSN) with Wide Open Wednesday. CTSN can be found on Cox cable systems
channel 144 and Comcast cable systems channels 185, 187, or 744 in
Connecticut. The 2011 season will mark the 11th consecutive season that
Stafford Motor Speedway has had a television presence with its premier
division.

Career First for NEMA’s Horn; Field’s Domination Continues at Thompson Rocco, Connors, Scorzelli, Monahan, & Boss
Thompson, CT (July 7, 2011): A hot summer night proved to be fitting for the racing action at Thompson International Speedway on Thursday night. The only thing hotter than the mercury was Danny Field. The Deep River, CT, driver remains undefeated in Mini Stock action during the 2011 season as he scored his seventh straight victory. Thompson Speedway hosted the Northeastern Midget Association (NEMA) for the annual Marvin Rifchin Memorial event. Mike Horn of Ashland, MA, made a bold move on the opening lap that proved to be the winning one.

Airborne begins 2012 Fourth of July plans
South Plattsburgh – Airborne Speedway promoter Mike Perrotte announced today that plans to improve upon the race track’s record-setting Holiday Fireworks event are underway.
“We were both appreciative of the response and a little overwhelmed,” Perrotte said. “With the popularity of Dr. Joe’s (Clauss) fireworks and our racers, it’s clear that parking, traffic control and concession improvements are in order. We know that having an enjoyable experience at a big event is what keeps people coming back.”

(Stafford Springs, CT)—As part of the 8th Annual CARQUEST Extreme Tuesday
event at Stafford Motor Speedway, CARQUEST and Stafford teamed up to create
a charity race, CARQUEST Champions For Charities. The result was a smashing
success as over $44,000 was raised for the various charities that were
represented by 14 open wheel champion drivers. CARQUEST and Stafford
contributed $3,000 to the total with the other $41,000 plus raised through
donations that were made by drivers, team members, fans, and businesses.

THE STORY
Joey Doiron of Berwick, Maine, returns to PASS North Series competition this weekend when the series heads to the Southern Maine Motors 150 at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough, Maine, on Saturday, July 9. Doiron, the 2010 PASS Rookie of the Year, has scaled back to a part-time effort in the series after some bad luck early in the going. He heads to his home track at Beech Ridge this weekend, where he also has competed several times this season in the track’s NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Pro Series division.

After an impressive stint as a relief driver for another team at Thunder Road Speedbowl last week, Hoar returns behind the wheel of his RPM Motorsports No. 37 GossCars.com. The series point leader with a record 30 career ACT wins, Hoar hopes to turn in yet another impressive Top-5 finish at the tight bullring track.

THE STORY
Austin Theriault of Fort Kent, Maine, will return to ACT Late Model Tour racing action at Twin State Speedway in Claremont, NH, Saturday July 9. This will mark Theriault’s second stop at the tight, egg-shaped speedway where he finished 10th in his first start at the track. Theriault has spent the last two off-weekends getting seat time by running the Governor’s Cup at Thunder Road International Speedbowl and last weekend’s Saturday night Late Model event at Oxford Plains Speedway. The RPM Motorsports No. 57 Varney Insurance Ford team hopes to come out of Twin State Speedway with a solid Top-10 and swing some momentum to their side leading up to the TD Bank 250.
