Squeglia Survives Star Classic
The Star Classic started in Epping amid a couple afternoon showers during practice. Eventually Mother Nature cooperated and opened up blue skies and sun. Race winner Joe Squeglia of Derry, NH set the pace early on earning the fastest time in the first practice. Derek Griffith of Hudson, NH set the pace in second practice with Squeglia close behind.
The only hiccup in the heats came in the third heat when Steve Murphy of Tewksbury, MA and George Bassette made contact in turn four. Bassette cut a tire and Murphy made contact with the wall, starting a long night for his crew.

Lee, NH – Lee USA Speedway still has a couple of on-track events to go before closing out the 2016 racing season, but it’s already time for the first big announcement regarding what’s in store for 2017 at “New Hampshire’s Center of Speed”.
Still celebrating their 30th year steering the LEE USA ship, track owners Red and Judy MacDonald are pleased to announce the return of Joe Bassett to the staff for the 2017 campaign. In preparation for next year, Bassett will be assuming the role of General Manager as soon as he can tie up a few loose ends at his current gig with the New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

USAC Dirt Midget Association
Ellington, CT: Bradford Vermont racer Adam Pierson, who races with the USAC Dirt Midget Association, is on the verge of matching a USAC record that has stood the test of time since 1995.
During the 1995 USAC race season, well known driver Billy Boat won eleven straight Western Midget races and that all-time single season record has been in the USAC history book ever since Boat accomplished it.
Now twenty one years after Boat made USAC racing history, Pierson is in range to join Boat in accomplishing the same record. With only two races left in the USAC Dirt Midget Association season, Pierson has nine wins and is aiming for that magic number of eleven.

(Epping, NH) – Derek Griffith went into the 100-lap event at Star Speedway on Saturday with the hopes of grabbing another victory. The last time the Granite State Pro Stock Series (GSPSS) visited the Epping, NH ¼-mile oval, Griffith came out the victor.
This time however, the strategy became simply to-be-able to drive the car into the trailer at the end of the race. The 23-car field started the event with several cautions in the early going and it ended the same fashion.
Derek and the No. 12 Hitman Industries/Provencher Insurance Toyota Camry rolled off in the 3rd starting position with the hopes of being able to put some */s+9ort of race plan together. Unfortunately, caution after caution negated any *\rt of race plan.
One of the largest starting fields in recent GSPSS memory, the Pro Stock drivers seemed to show very little patience, Griffith was an exception to that and quickly moved his way to grab the lead in the early going.

Oxford, Maine – TJ Brackett of Buckfield prevailed over his best friend, Shawn Knight of South Paris, in a thrilling Budweiser Championship Series Super Late Model main event Saturday night at Oxford Plains Speedway.
While the race winner made his division-leading third trip to victory lane this season it was his father, Tim Brackett, scoring the big prize, claiming his second straight track championship. It was the fourth Oxford Plains Speedway championship for the Oxford native currently residing in Buckfield.
TJ Brackett started 11th and wasted little time getting to the front of the field to set up an extended battle with Knight throughout the 50-lap race. Knight earned runner-up honors, with Jay’s Dave Farrington, Jr. third under the checkered flag after leading the opening laps in the event.

Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Mods victory lane filled with Rookies
Jason Porter gets the win in the Weglarz Property Service Four Cylinders
BRADFORD, VT – The Spencer Rocke memorial night sponsored by Shaker Valley Auto offered the fans great racing excitement, over 40 active members in the Bear Ridge Speedway Kids Club a brand new bike, and a song courtesy of the last man standing with a bike from the Timberwolves Hockey team on hand to support their driver Trever Rocke
The finish almost couldn’t have been any better in the DIRTcar Sabil & Sons Sportsman Modifieds, who put on a whale of a show for the fans only being slowed for a spit one time. With twenty four cars on the track the drive to the front can be challenging and for the fans you gotta pay attention to keep up with your favorite driver when the fast paced action isn’t slowed by caution. This also gives the guys in the front, if up to the challenge, the opportunity to hopefully pull away from the pack. Tommy Kimball led the first 10 circuits before handling problems saw him fade to the back over the next 30 laps. Trever Rocke son of Spencer found himself taking over the point and held on for the next 16 before being over taken by his friend Todd Buckwold. Buckwold has been strong all season and like Rocke not quite able to hold on till the end, but tonight he was not going to let it happen again. Buckwold held on to the lead to grab the win, his first of the season, helping to solidify his rookie points standings and to make him eligible to compete in the second annual Growler event held on the last night exclusively for the Sportsman Mod winners. Rocke came home in second and Matt Lashua with his best finish of the season crossed the line in third. Adam Pierson and Jordan Fornwalt completed the top five. (more…)
