Naples ME (2/3) The Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South super late model season will go green in just six short weeks and entry blanks for both the March 12 Electric City 150 at Anderson (SC) Motor Speedway and the March 26 South Carolina Clash at Dillon (SC) Motor Speedway are available on line at www.proallstarsseries.com .

Anderson Motor Speedway returns to the PASS South schedule after a three year hiatus and the beautiful 3/8 mile speedway is a welcome addition to the PASS South schedule. You can be sure that a strong field will make the trip to Anderson for the PASS season opener. (more…)

ACT Logo Waterbury, VT –Veterans of the American Canadian Tour (ACT) will find plenty of eager young and veteran talent to challenge them at the inaugural Goodyear Speedweeks Cup event to be held at the New Smyrna Speedway during the upcoming World Series of Asphalt Stock Car racing this month.

Past American Canadian Tour Champions, Brian Hoar from Williston, VT, Karl Allard, Ste Felicien, QC, Donald Theetge, Quebec City, QC and Patrick Laperle from Ste-Denis sur Richeleau, west of Montreal, have all won multiple championships during their successful careers.

Inaugural ECS $2,500 Challenge planned for Rockingham Park

CHESHIRE, Conn. (Feb. 2, 2011) – Officials at East Coast Snocross (ECS) are working behind the scenes to put together a special high-purse race for riders in the Pro and Semi-Pro divisions during the upcoming event at historic Rockingham Park in Salem, New Hampshire.

The inaugural ECS $2,500 Challenge will be a non-points open format, with two rounds of qualifying planned for Saturday and the Final on Sunday.

Winter X Games Medalists are coming to Finger Lakes Casino & Racetrack

Minneapolis, Minn. – Feb. 1, 2011 – Direct from Aspen, Col. and the Winter XGames with precious medals to boot are some of the world’s best snocross racers and freestyle athletes coming to the east coast for the third year in a row to compete in the AMSOIL Championship Snocross Series Vision KIA Eastern Nationals at Finger Lakes Casino and Racetrack Feb. 4-5.
Tucker Hibbert brought home a gold medal in the X Games Snocross. Ross Martin took the silver medal and the bronze went to Robbie Malinoski. These athletes competed hard and will be bringing their A Game to Farmington. Other hot X Games riders coming to the Eastern Nationals will be the Pallin brothers Kyle and Zach, Dan Ebert, Cody Thomsen, Iain Hayden, Justin Broberg, Johan Lidman, Tim Tremblay, Emil Ohman, Ryan Simons, Colby Crapo, Bobby LePage, Cory Davis (Winning the bronze medal in Sped and Style) and Monster Mike Schultz (winning the gold medal in the Adaptive Class).

Portland, ME – Northern New England’s oval track stock car season is several weeks away, as the Daytona International Speedway gates swing open for the start of the NASCAR season.

Just days after the big 500 in Florida, the 18th annual edition of the region’s biggest wintertime stock car racing showcase, Racin’ Preview 2011 at the Portland Expo, opens its doors Friday, February 25 and Saturday, February 26.

Chase Ellliott Sweeps SpeedFest 2011

The general thinking in short track circles was that it would be hard for Chase Elliott and his Aaron’s team to top their phenomenal 2010 season which saw them win major races and championships at tracks all across the country.But on Sunday in the Speedfest 2011 race at Lanier National Speedway in Braselton, Ga., they took a major step at proving the skeptics wrong. Elliott swept both of the Late Model features, outrunning some of the nation’s best short trackers – as well as NASCAR driver David Ragan – in the process.

Elliott started third in the first race, a 150 lapper for Pro Late Model cars and drivers. He passed Shane Sawyer on Lap Six for second place and moved on to challenge Ragan, who won a Late Model race at Lanier on Jan. 9, on Lap 18. He took the lead a lap later and maintained the top spot until the mandated 100-lap break.

Lakes Region Ice Racing Club – Benefit Latchkey Cup Highlights a Weekend of Ice Racing

Moultonboro, NH – The Lakes Region Ice Racing Club sponsored 2 days of oval track ice racing last weekend. Saturday featured the largest ice racing event in the northeast, the 27th annual Latchkey Cup.

SATURDAY
The Club struggled with water and slush issues during the week to prepare the racing surface, but with several sub-zero nights and a lot of work, the track was in great shape for the Saturday racing. The cook shack was in place and the souvenir stand setup as race cars, crews and fans streamed onto Berry Pond. After a driver’s meeting and the preliminary hot laps, the crews prepared their cars for the qualifying heats. Racers in the Junior, Front Wheel Drive, Rear Wheel Drive, Stock and Modified Divisions took to the track for the morning qualifying races. After a mid-day lunch break and a “meet the drivers and check out the cars” session, the racers prepared for the day’s feature events.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates’ magical run continued on Sunday with their fourth overall victory in the 49th Rolex 24 At Daytona at Daytona International Speedway.
In the final minutes of America’s premier sports car race, a late caution suddenly turned the Rolex 24 At Daytona into a sprint race.

The No. 01 BMW Riley with driver Scott Pruett behind the wheel held off the sister Ganassi Racing car – the No. 02 BMW Riley and driver Scott Dixon – on a final green and white restart to capture one of the most competitive twice-around-the-clock challenges in history.
