ECS Snocross News: East Burke, VT Event Preview

Green Flag at Burke Mountain set to wave for East Coast Snocross Series,

CHESHIRE, Conn. (Dec. 1, 2010) – After all the hype, speculation and brand-changing, the time has come to fire the engines and wave that familiar green flag.

Snowmobile race teams from around New York and New England are packing their bags and loading the trailers, as officials at East Coast Snocross (ECS) prepare to kick off their inaugural season of competition on Saturday and Sunday, December 11-12, at the beautiful Burke Mountain Ski Resort in East Burke, Vermont.

Spectator gates will open at 10 a.m. each day, with racing getting under way at 11 a.m. Admission is $15 per day for adults, while children age seven and under will be admitted free with a paying adult. Pit passes valid through the weekend will be available for an extra $10. (more…)

Racing Assets of Richard Petty Motorsports Purchased by Richard Petty, Medallion Financial, and DGB Investments

Concord, N.C. (November 29, 2010) – Racing legend and all time NASCAR win leader Richard Petty is back in the driver’s seat.

Richard Petty Motorsports signed and closed a sale of its racing assets to an investment group comprised of Richard Petty, Medallion Financial Corp. (Nasdaq:TAXI) and DGB Investments.

Richard Petty, a seven-time NASCAR champion has won 200 races, including 10 Daytona races. Known in the NASCAR world as “The King,” Petty will serve as Chairman and will be actively involved in overseeing day-to-day operations of the company. As previously announced, the team will operate the legendary No. 43 car driven by AJ Allmendinger and the No. 9 car driven by Marcos Ambrose.

2011 PASS Sportsman, PASS Mod schedules released

NAPLES ME (11/29) Pro All Stars Series (PASS) President Tom Mayberry has released the 2011 schedules for both the PASS Sportsman and PASS Mod series and both are a blend of new venues, returning venues and old favorites.

The Mods currently have eleven confirmed dates with the possibility of one additional race. Oxford Plains Speedway welcomes the PASS Mods back for a Friday July 22 appearance during Oxford 250 weekend, and the series finale on October 1. White Mountain is back on the schedule for the first time since 2005 and Star Speedway adds a date.
