Scarborough,Maine-The final night of the racing season saw some of the division championships settled on the final lap as Beech Ridge Motor Speedway closed the curtain on the 2010 NASCAR Whelan All American Series. The NASCAR Pro Series division entered the night with Dan McKeage holding an 11 point lead over Mike Rowe and a 16 point lead over David Oliver. Charlie Colby blasted into the lead at the drop of the green flag and checked out on the field. A caution flag on lap 6 came out as a result of point leader Dan McKeage exploding a tire in turn 2. McMurray Holds Off Kyle Busch for NASCAR Nationwide Series Win

(September 4, 2010)

HAMPTON, Ga.—Jamie McMurray held off Kyle Busch and stopped Busch one spot short of a historic win Saturday night at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Driving JR Motorsports’ No. 88 Chevrolet, McMurray asserted his superiority over the final 40 of 195 laps to win the NASCAR Nationwide Series Great Clips 300 at the 1.54-mile racetrack. The victory, the eighth of McMurray’s NASCAR Nationwide career, was his first since November 2004 at Darlington.

Busch is tied with Sam Ard for the series’ single-season wins record with 10.

Thompson Speedway (September 2, 2010): For the third-time this season, the Thompson International Speedway hosted their Tour-Type Modified Shootout. Ryan Preece of Berlin, CT, added his name to the already impressive list of winners with his exciting victory on Thursday night. There was no shortage in intensity in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series with five winners posting victories.

Whelen Modified Tour entries for the 38th Annual CARQUEST Fall Final
Weekend, scheduled for Oct. 1-Oct 3. The first entries for the 2010
CARQUEST Fall Final Weekend are Mike Stefanik, Richie Pallai, Jr., and Ken
Heagy. Pallai is chasing Justin Bonsignore for 2010 Sunoco Rookie of the
Year honors while Stefanik is chasing after Ted Christopher and Bobby

JUDKINS 2x MODIFIED RETURNING TO STAFFORD SPEEDWAY WITH RYAN PREECE FOR INAUGURAL SHARK CYCLE 100

(Stafford Springs, CT)—When the Modified Racing Series makes its debut
appearance at Stafford Motor Speedway on Sept. 10 for the Shark Cycle 100,
there will be a car very familiar to Stafford fans of yesteryear attempting
to make the starting lineup. Returning to Stafford will be the red #2x Bob
Judkins owned machine, driven by his grandson Ryan Preece. Preece has run
the 2x previously at New Smyrna Speedway, but this will mark the first race
in the North for the driver/car combination. The 2x has seen some of
modified racing’s best drivers behind the wheel throughout the years
including Rene Charland, Ron Bouchard, Geoff and Brett Bodine, and Jerry
