Becker Wins Fourth Career Feature on WDEV/Calkins Night at Thunder Road
Barre, VT – Jeffersonville’s Joey Becker eanred his fourth career Thunder Road Late Model feature win on WDEV/Calkins night on Thursday, July 29. Becker worked his way through the field from his seventh starting position to take the lead on lap 27 from rookie Cody Blake. He held off Senator Phil Scott and Nick Sweet through six more caution flags to earn the win. (more…)

Richardi, Jr. Grabs Checkers in Caution Filled Seekonk Event
Seekonk, Ma – July 28, 2010 – After a rain cancellation on July 21, the RF Logic/ Bot-L Gas Pro Four Modifieds competed in Seekonk Speedway’s Modified Madness. The drivers were able to complete practice rounds on both the 21st and 28th. The Qualifying events were won by Rob Richardi, Jr. and Franky Perry.
In the main event Stan Mertz and Dave Richardi brought the field to the green and D. Richardi was able to make the pass on Mertz via the high lane. Rob Richardi, Jr. and Dan Meservey Jr., were able to make the pass as well. Action was also heating up in the back of the back as some three wide racing action occurred between the cars of Brian Souza, Brian Vincent, George Sherman, Tyler Anderson and Perry. By lap four, 15th place starter, Adam Norton had already worked his way up to 8th position.

Thompson, CT (July 29, 2010): Ted Christopher of Plainville, CT, continued his domination of the Sunoco Modified division with his seventh victory of the season. A special night for the Mini Stocks found Chris McKinstry of E. Thetford, VT victorious in the Mini Stock Northern Challenge. McKinstry also scored the top honors in the Northeastern Mini Stock Touring season portion of the Challenge. Thomspon’s own Jeff Moffat of Warwick, RI, also shared the limelight.

Ramstrom Wins Again At Thompson
Derek Ramstrom of West Boylston, Mass., led every lap en route to his fifth feature win of the season at Thompson International Speedway in Thompson, Conn., on Thursday night. Ramstrom, the defending Super Late Model champion at the track, now has five victories in just 10 starts this year. He started third in the caution-free 30-lap NASCAR Whelen All-American Series event and had the lead by the time the field completed the first lap around the high-banked, .625-mile oval. From there, Ramstrom went unchallenged to the victory and gained ground of division points leaders Mike O’Sullivan and Larry Gelinas.

Stafford Motor Speedway for the 20th Annual Town Fair Tire 150, one driver
who will be looking forward to the race is Jimmy Blewett. Blewett has won a
race at Stafford in each of the last two seasons and has been in contention

in the chase for the 2010 title. Giving chase to Santos are 2008 champion
Ted Christopher, 2003 champion Todd Szegedy, and 7-time Tour champion Mike
Stefanik.
“Right now our goal is to win races,” said Santos. “I’ve never raced for
points before this year. At the start of this season, we were only focused
on winning races and that was how we were able to build up our points lead.
There’s no reason why we can’t continue to run up front and win races this

ACT ANNOUNCES FINAL LIST FOR NHMS INVITATIONAL
Waterbury, VT – The American Canadian Tour (ACT) announced today another list of potential race teams that may be invited to compete in the second annual ACT Invitational at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway over the opening weekend for the NASCAR Chase weekend on September 17-19, 2010.
Two full days of practice at NHMS will be divided between over 70 invited attendees. With just eight (8) teams guaranteed spots in the expanded field of 43 starters, the test sessions will go a long way in deciding who will get the ‘at large’ invitations to what has become one of the most anticipated events of the year for short track fans and teams in the Northeast and eastern Canada.

Brent Dragon: ACT Late Model Tour
Twin State Speedway Race Preview
Brent Dragon of Milton, Vt., joins the rest of the ACT Late Model Tour when he heads to the Twin State 100 at Twin State Speedway in Claremont, N.H., on Friday, July 30. Dragon, whose 181 career ACT Late Model Tour starts rank first all-time, is the defending champion of the event. At the midway point of the season, Dragon is second in the ACT standings, just 111 points behind multi-time champion Brian Hoar with several tracks where he owns victories soon to appear on the schedule. Dragon was running in the top-5 last weekend at Beech Ridge just past the halfway mark before being caught in another competitor’s accident — but the No. 55 team rallied through a pit stop to repair damage and ended up in eighth place by night’s end.
