Hudson NH – Don Soucy scored his first career feature win in the Roadrunner division on Sunday evening July 11th at Hudson International Speedway.
Soucy started ninth in the field and quickly made his way towards the front. Eric Miller led the opening laps of the race until a caution flew bunching the field for a restart with Miller on the pole and Soucy starting outside pole. Miller is still getting used to a new car and missed a shift when the green flag dropped and the field got by him with Soucy leading the way. From that point on Soucy had plenty of competition with Roadrunner aces Louie Maher and Nick Maniatis on his bumper but was able to hold off all challengers. Maher came home in the runnerup spot for the fourth time in a row. Maniatis crossed the line third. Patrick D’Alba finished fourth in his last race in his blue Honda. Jef James was fifth. Sixth through tenth were Miller, Johnny Reefer, Shawn Miller, Jesse Tellier and Jason Carroll. (more…)

The word is spreading about the rejuvenated Big Daddy’s Speedbowl in Wentworth, NH. A whole lot of racing gets packed into a busy afternoon every Sunday. Fans can watch great racing at a state-of-the-art facility and be on the road home before dark.
On Moses Family Memorial night at Big Daddy’s, fans saw some especially good racing and they also saw some racing history. A number of the famous racing coupes from the sixties and seventies came by for a visit. It was a big thrill to see restored race cars made famous by Ralph Stygles, Brother Eastman, John Bucklin, and others out on the track taking laps. At the show held before races, models and old photos were on display.

Morgan breaks Brackett’s Streak Hewins and Jordan take Rebels
by Caleb Lamb
OXFORD, Maine – The Renegades were the first to take to the 3/8th mile track for a ten lap feature event. Charlie Hall started on the front row in his new #3 car, and he jumped out to the lead. However, it was very short lived as Jamie Heath passed him just a lap later and ran away from the field to open up a straightaway length lead. Mark Turner and Gerard Cote moved past him as well to take over second and third. Turner had moved his way up through the pack well after making contact with Bill Grover, causing Grover’s #91 to spin sideways in turn three. Grover charged furiously through the field and caught back up to Turner with two laps to go. Going into turn four, he made heavy contact with Turner’s car causing him to slide high and back several spots. Jamie Heath crossed the line first, well ahead of Grover and Cote. However, Bill Grover would not hold his position as he was bumped back to the tail end of the lead lap for rough driving. Gerard Cote officially finished second with Turner, Charlie Hall, and Grover rounding out the top five. (more…)
