Tom Fearn and #92 Late Model Team Welcome Sarat Ford as Sponsor

staffordTom Fearn and #92 Late Model Team Welcome Sarat Ford as Sponsor

(Stafford Springs, CT)—After a dismal start to the 2015 Late Model season at Stafford Speedway, East Longmeadow, MA native Tom Fearn has turned his season around with 2 consecutive victories, which coincides with the #92 team adding Sarat Ford as a sponsor. Fearn has ties with Sarat Ford that date back to his ProStock days in the early ‘90s when he was winning championships at Stafford.

“Sarat Ford was on the ProStock I drove back in 1993 through my car owner Marvin Prosco and it’s a relief to have them back on board with us this season,” said Fearn. “We went to Sarat with a proposal back in January and we were able to get everything worked out and they were on the car for the first time 2 weeks ago. Bill Kushin, from Sun Valley Fire Equipment, which is another one of our sponsors, was instrumental with getting Sarat Ford on board as a sponsor. We left the back panel on the car black because we were hoping to be able to add Sarat in that space and we were able to win our first 2 races with them on the car.”

$1,000-to-win Renegade 100 highlights Plattsburgh Ford/Aaron’s Night

PLATTSBURGH, NY – Weekly Saturday night stock car racing returns to Airborne Park Speedway on June 13 at 7:00 p.m. with a big event presented by Plattsburgh Ford and Aaron’s. A 100-lap main event for the fan-favorite Key R-D Trailer Sales Renegade division highlights the program, which will also see four title winners crowned in the Yandow Sales & Service/John Deere Spring Championship Series.

The Spring Championship Series will crown an overall champion from the six-race bi-weekly early season NASCAR Whelen All-American Series schedule between Airborne Park Speedway and Devil’s Bowl Speedway. Five drivers are mathematically alive for the Renegade title entering Saturday’s 100-lapper, though it will likely come down to a two-man battle. Defending Airborne track champion Robert Gordon of Milton, VT has a narrow five-point lead on hometown driver Jason McClatchie (253-248) entering the $1,000-to-win Plattsburgh Ford/Aaron’s 100, with Dylan Rabtoy, Scott FitzGerald, and Richie Turner trailing. A two-point declination between feature race positions and an opportunity to score as many as five bonus points in qualifying means that Gordon and McClatchie must keep each other in close quarters all night long.

Doug Coby claims another win at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park in the Mr. Rooter 125

thompson speedwayDoug Coby claims another win at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park in the Mr. Rooter 125

The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour (NWMT) returned to Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park on June 10th with Ryan Preece riding a two race winning streak and four straight top five finishes into the fifth race of the season, the Mr. Rooter Plumbing 125.

With a packed crowd on hand Preece hoped to match an accomplishment he completed in 2013 as the most recent driver to win three consecutive events on the Whelen Modified Tour, however it was not meant to be as the points leader was overshadowed by a dominant performance by defending series champion Doug Coby, who has owned the Big T as of late with a win in the Icebreaker earlier this year, and who claimed another victory leading all 125 laps of the event. It was Coby’s twelfth career victory in the series and represented a maximum points day for the driver who sat third in the points coming into the night. Coby remains in third, only a single point behind Pitkat for second.
