Babb, Packard Making Strong Impressions Early in 2015 ACT Season

dfhfghfghfgWaterbury, VT—The 2015 American-Canadian Tour (ACT) season has reached the quarter-pole of its 15-race schedule. While former champions Wayne Helliwell Jr. and Joey Polewarczyk Jr. find themselves at the top of the standings, a growing crop of new and young racers are making their presence known.
Windham, ME’s Brad Babb has been one of the drivers to beat so far. Babb returned to the ACT Tour full-time in 2015 driving a car owned by Joey Laquerre. He scored his first ACT podium finish at the New Hampshire Governor’s Cup, then earned a storybook win in the Merchants Bank 150 at Barre, VT’s Thunder Road. It was the first race at Thunder Road since Laquerre’s grandson, up-and-coming local racer Joey M. Laquerre, died in an ATV accident last October.

NEW ENGLAND MOTORSPORTS SOUTH

fasfrterStafford Speedway was back on track under the lights for the first time in 2015 with the BFF Friday program on Friday night, May 1st. Ronnie Williams took the lead early and then had to hold off challenges from Eric Berndt, Rowan Pennink, and then Keith Rocco to claim victory in the 40-lap SK Modified® feature, Josh Wood was the winner in the 30-lap Late Model feature, Joey Ferrigno was the winner of the 20-lap SK Light feature, Cliff Saunders won the 20-lap Limited Late Model feature, Trace Beyer won the 15-lap DARE Stock feature, and Dana DiMatteo won the 20-lap Legend Cars feature.

NEW ENGLAND MOTORSPORTS NORTH

tgbnhyBryan Kruczek of Newmarket, New Hampshire claimed his first-ever victory in a Super Late Model car in the Southern Maine Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram 150 for AIM PASS Super Late Models Saturday at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough.

Kruczek led early and late in the 150-lap grind, swapping the top spot with hometown racer Kelly Moore through the opening stages of the race, cruising with the contenders during a stretch dominated by Turner’s Glen Luce, then outrunning a late charge by Dave Oliver of Standish.

Pennink First to enter the NAPA SK 5k Gambler’s Challenge Presented by Dunleavy Truck and Trailer

Stafford Speedway Posts Over $44,000 In Contingency Bonuses in 2015

fasfrter(Stafford Springs, CT)—Stafford Speedway’s Contingency Program was implemented prior to the start of the 1999 season and with the program now in its 17th year of existence, it has grown to the point where there is over $44,000 in contingency bonuses up for grabs to Stafford drivers in 2015.

“We’re very grateful to our contingency partners for making our program possible,” said Mark Arute, Stafford COO/GM. “Over the last 17 years it has grown by leaps and bounds. When we first started the program, the goal was to offer bonus money to help our competitors offset some of their costs. Now there is bonus money available to all the weekly divisions through several different programs that pay out contingency bonuses. Our weekly race partners have a rookie bonus program that we feel is second to none, and we have several unique programs like the XtraMart Xtra D and CBYD 811 Challenge.”

ACT Awards Merchants Bank 150 Three Stars

There are no specific criteria for deciding who might receive the award of a free American Racer Tire (value $125.00), but a special effort by a team, exceptional race, just plain old hard luck, or any other accepted reason to give the award is used to decide the award recipients.

Jay Fogleman Set For PASS South Return At Kingsport’s Daniel Boone Classic
