VMRS RACE RESCHEDULED AT THOMPSON

VMRSTHOMPSON,CT. Thursday, August 1st is the new date for the Valenti Modified Racing Series to run at the Thompson Speedway. Track officials announced late on Thursday that an agreement had been reached with the Valenti Modified Racing Series officials to run the event next week. The change was made necessary when rain forced the postponement of the July 25th race date.

The event is expected to draw the very best race teams on the VMRS roster. Current points leader Tommy Barrett, JR will lead the impressive lineup of drivers to the Connecticut oval. Drivers like Rowan Pennink, Richard Savary, Louie Mechalides, Norm Wrenn, Chris Pasteryak and many more are expected to compete for a starting spot in the VMRS 75-lap feature event.

Pennink Tops Oxford Field For Ninth VMRS Win

VMRSOxford, ME. – Rowan Pennink of Huntingdon Valley, PA, passed race leader Anthony Nocella, of Woburn, MA, on lap 76, and went on to score his second win of the season Saturday night, July 20, at Oxford Plains Speedway, Oxford, ME. The Valenti Modified Racing Series sanctioned race was part of the 40th annual TD Bank 250 weekend.

Pennink becomes the sixth different VMRS winner at Oxford and he joins Tommy Barrett, of Millis, MA, with two wins.

Pennink started 16th in a field of 21 cars, calculated his strategy with spotter Brian Crowley perfectly to position himself for a race-leading pass on the 76th circuit.

Two laps later Pennink had his hands full as Richard Savary, of Canton, MA, chased after the leader right to the finish. In lapped traffic, Savary twice pulled alongside Pennink.

Pennink Wins Lee, Pasteryak Claims VMRS Title

Lee, N.H. — Rowan Pennink of Huntingdon Valley, PA., started ninth in a 24 field, took the lead on lap 61, and went on to win the “Oktoberfest 100” Valenti Modified Racing Series event, Sunday afternoon, at Lee USA Speedway, Lee, NH.

The win was Pennink’s second this season and his fourth career VMRS victory. Pennink also becomes the seventh different driver in seven seasons to win the fall finale.

Seekonk Or Lee Will Again Decide VMRS Title

Canaan, N.H. – -Two traditional race events, popular with fans and competitors alike, will determine the 2011 Valenti Modified Racing Series championship.

As in past years, the run to the title could be claimed this weekend, Oct 8 and 9, at Seekonk Speedway. Seekonk, MA., at the annual “DAV Fall Classic,” or Oct 22, and 23 at New Hampshire’s Lee USA Speedway as part of that track’s 25th annual “Oktoberfest” weekend.
