Morin, Ackerman score big wins in Ossipee for East Coast Snocross Series,
Presented by Woody’s Traction & AMSOIL

WEST OSSIPEE, NH (Jan. 17, 2011) – Point leaders Mathieu Morin and Chris Ackerman expanded their margins Sunday afternoon, posting final round wins in their respective divisions as East Coast Snocross (ECS) concluded Round 3 on the 2011 schedule at the West Ossipee Fire Department.

Saturday’s racing was highlighted by Corin Todd’s (JAC Racing/Arctic Cat) impressive victory in the grueling 25-lap Pro Stock final, along with the first win since 2008 by returning Semi-Pro rider Dale Petrus.

The Bear Ridge Speedway Hornet Queens set to return to the fastest clay oval in Vermont for the 2011 racing season.

The Queens in their fifth season will once again be running every other week starting May 14th thru championship night September 17th. To date only one female has claimed the title twice, will this be the year that Melissa King or Misty Bell go for a repeat or is someone else sitting in the wings to defy them the opportunity? Only time will tell as this division continues to grow each year.

Quebec, QC – 2010 Série ACT Castrol Edge Champion Karl Allard of St-Félicien, QC celebrated his championship at the 2010 Série ACT Castrol Edge Banquet of Champions on Saturday, January 15 at the Hotel Quebec Inn in Quebec City, Quebec. It is Allard’s first career Série ACT Castrol Edge Championship although he has finished inside the top five in the year end standings for each of the series four seasons since its creation in 2007. During the 2010 season Allard and his Denis Larue owned team put together the most dominant late model touring season since the inception of the ACT Late Model in 1992. With his record six wins, Allard claimed the top honors over runner-up and 2008 Série ACT Castrol Edge Champion Patrick Laperle of St-Denis, Quebec. Allard took home a year end point fund check of $10,000 to bring his season total to $33,810 in the 11 event season.

ECS Snocross News: Todd, Petrus score wins on Day 1 at Ossipee

Corin Todd dominates Pro Stock final at Ossipee
Dale Petrus wins first Semi-Pro final since 2008

OSSIPEE, N.H. (Jan. 15, 2011) – Rookie sensation Corin Todd fulfilled a lifelong dream Saturday, dominating the Pro Stock final as Day 1 wrapped up at the Ossipee Fire Department in Round 3 on the 2010-2011 East Coast Snocross (ECS) campaign.

Todd (JAC Racing/Arctic Cat), of Otego, New York, was competing on a sled borrowed from teammate Jesse James Bonaduce after his primary machine suffered mechanical failure. The 17-year-old athlete followed fellow Pro rookie Lincoln Lemieux into Turn 1, but led the field across the line for lap 1 and never looked back. What makes this win even more special is the fact it was 25 grueling laps, tough for even the most seasoned veterans. (more…)
