Vallée-Jct., QC – The American-Canadian Tour (ACT) U.S and Série ACT head to Vallée-Jct., QC’s Autodrome Chaudiere this Saturday, September 12 for the Chaudiere Twin 200s. The ACT Late Models and the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) Super Late Models will both run 200-lap main events in the doubleheader for the two series.

The ACT combination event is the inaugural point-counting race for the ACT U.S. Tour at Chaudiere. Select U.S. drivers previously visited the speedway for the “Showdown at Chaudiere” invitational event held from 2008-2012, but many Tour regulars will be making their debut at the 1/3-mile oval. Even drivers such as two-time ACT Champion Wayne Helliwell Jr. will have their work cut out for them to get up to speed.

EAST MONTPELIER, Vt. – Fighting an ill-handing car throughout the entire race, Emily Packard was able to bring home a 15th place finish in a race that saw 9 caution flags in the 37th Coca Cola Labor Day Classic at Thunder Road International Speedbowl this past weekend.

The 18-year old East Montpelier native was consistently in the top ten on each of the speed sheets and felt that she would have a decent car for the heat.  Packard started her Northstar Fireworks/Packard Fuels car in the 8th position of the second heat race, but wasn’t able to make much movement forward.  “We had a tough heat race,” Packard said.  “We weren’t able to get into the preferred line, and the car wasn’t exactly how we wanted it, being a little snug in the center.”  She would end up finishing the heat race in 8th place, and found herself running the consi to make the feature.     (more…)

Montmagny, QC – Defending Série ACT Champion Alex Labbé used a late cross-over move on fellow former Champion Donald Theetge to earn his fourth win of the year in the Montmagny 150 at Autodrome Montmagny on Saturday, September 5.

St-Albert, QC’s Labbé looked to the high side of Theetge entering turn 1 with three laps remaining, then dove low to Theetge’s inside exiting turn 2. The pair battled side-by-side for the next two laps before Labbé secured the lead.

Boischatel, QC’s Theetge dominated the first third of the race before surrendering the lead to Blainville, QC’s Jonathan Bouvrette on lap 51. Apart from one circuit where Labbé nosed ahead, Bouvrette kept him and Theetge at bay until his engine let go on lap 98. Labbé and Theetge then fought for the remainder of the race before Labbé’s winning move.

BRADFORD, VT – Valley Floors night offered plenty of racing excitement for the fans and was capped with a 75 lap Enduro. Over thirty cars took to the track at the end of the night with competitors ranging in ages from fifteen to seventy three. Ryan Christian claimed the checkers with Tim Chase in second and Michael Labounty in third. Frank Putney and Chad Martin completed the top five.

Local boy Richie Simmons started the season on a high grabbing the first win of the season and then struggled a bit until this week. Starting from mid pack Simmons worked his way to the front and on lap nine took the lead away from Thomas Kimball. Simmons would be uncontested for most of the race until Kevin Chaffee having advance twelve spots set his sights on Simmons. Luckily for Simmons laps would run out before Chaffee could make his move with the two crossing the line in that order. Michael Dunn with his second best finish of the season came home in third. DJ Robinson and Josh Currier completed the top five.
