GSPSS To Honor Hoyt With JBH 100 at Monadnock Saturday

WALPOLE, N.H. –

The Granite State Pro Stock Series (GSPSS) will honor the late John Hoyt this Saturday night, with the running of the JBH 100 at Monadnock Speedway in Winchester, New Hampshire.

The race has been dedicated to Hoyt as it has in years past and drivers will seek glory in his name. Hoyt was the co-founder of the GSPSS before he unexpectedly passed away in July 2011.

Winchester, NH. — It was a perfect lead-in to the tracks annual fireworks presentation. The final 9-laps were explosive as drivers made their last run at a strong finish. Chris Pasteryak dove under David Schneider to fifth, Todd Patnode, dove under Steve Masse for a podium finish, but it was the battle for the win that was the grand finale.

Russ Hersey, of Swanzey, NH, dominated the annual Valenti Modified Racing Series ‘Firecracker 100’ at his home track taking the lead on lap-21 and holding it until a last lap showdown with Jon McKennedy, of E.Chelmsford, MA, before a large crowd at Monadnock Speedway Saturday night July 2.

Carzello Celebrates Sportsman Modified Victory at Monadnock

Winchester, NH: The Valenti Modified Racing Series were at the high banked ¼ mile of Monadnock Speedway with McKennedy winning the Firecracker 100 on the last turn of the last this past Saturday night. Along with the Valenti Modifieds there was a full celebration with the six regular divisions and plenty of fireworks to end the night.

The Young Guns came out for their 15 lap feature with Mariah Stebbins leading the field. On the first lap Alex Barden quickly moved up a position into third. Stebbins and Devin Guy continued to lead the field until Chase Curtis took over second on lap 10. Chase Curtis fought hard to move through the pack to get the lead on lap 13. This marked the fifth win of the season for Curtis. The top five finishers for the night were Chase Curtis, Mariah Stebbins, Devin Guy, Alex Barden, and Shelby Avery.

This past Saturday night brought nine feature events at Monadnock Speedway. The night included the NEMA Iron Mike Memorial Race, Pro 4 Modifieds and the speedway’s weekly divisions.

The Young Guns feature was lead out by Chase Curtis with Devin Guy on his outside. On the green Alex Barden took over fourth position, but that wasn’t long lived when Jaret Curtis took back fourth leaving Barden back in fifth on lap 6. The first caution came out when Isabella Minchella crossed traffic on the front stretch and hit the wall. On the restart Chase Curtis still had the lead with Devin Guy right behind him, but it didn’t take long for Shelby Avery to take over the second position and one lap later bounced off the wall and took Barden with her. When it was all sorted out the race ended with the top five finishers Chase Curtis, Devin Guy, Jaret Curtis, Mariah Stebbins and Colby Lambert.

Winchester, NH: This past Saturday, Monadnock Speedway hosted their regular NASCAR Whelen All American Series divisions along with the Star Antique Racers. There were some familiar faces in victory lane along with celebrations of first of the season wins.

The stars and cars of yester-year, the Senior Tour Auto Racers started the evening’s events. The top three finishers in the Senior Tour Auto Racers’ Modified division were Danny Ferland, Gregg Massini
and Jim Allen. In the Senior Tour Auto Racers’ Sportsman division the top three were Bob Harless , Rick MacDowell and Alan Zemla.

Winchester, NH: This past Saturday, Monadnock speedway opened their gates for the traditional Bond Auto Parts Spring Dash 100 featuring the Valenti Modified Racing Series and the speedway’s weekly NASCAR Whelen All American Racing Series divisions.

With a full house the first 15 lap feature event of the night begins with the Young Guns. These kids displayed true sportsmanship and an interesting event for the night. Right off the line Chase Curtis led the way in the caution free race as Alex Barden and Shelby Avery started their battle for that second position. The battle continued until Barden took 2nd position and Avery fell right in behind for 3rd. The top 5 finishers were Curtis, Barden, Avery, Peabody and Chloe Wright, respectively. Bella Minchella suffered mechanical problems and did not start the race.
