COREY HUTCHINGS TEAMS WITH BARRY FLUCKIGER RACING FOR 2012 LATE MODEL SEASON AT STAFFORD MOTOR SPEEDWAY

(Stafford Springs, CT)—While there are many drivers at Stafford Speedway
who will either be making their debuts or switching divisions for the 2012
season, Corey Hutchings will remain in the Late Model division, but be
racing for a new team. After two seasons behind the wheel of Billy Snow,
Sr.’s #87 car, Hutchings will sit behind the wheel of the #36 owned by Barry
Fluckiger. While Hutchings will return to the car number that he is
synonymous with, he will be joining a new team in hopes of chasing down his
second career Late Model championship at Stafford.

GLEN REEN LOOKS TO BUILD UPON SUCCESS OF 2011 TO CHALLENGE FOR SK MODIFIED® CHAMPIONSHIP IN 2012 AT STAFFORD SPEEDWAY

Stafford Motor Speedway, Glen Reen returned to Stafford’s SK Modified®
division in 2011 driving the #21 owned by Don Silberman. Josh Sylvester
drove Silberman’s #21 to Rookie of the Year honors in 2010 and Reen took the
car’s performance to an even higher level in 2011, finishing 6th in the
points standings with 6 top-5 and 12 top-10 finishes in 18 starts. As good
as the 2011 season was for Reen and the Silberman crew, Reen says that the

Fireworks and “car soccer” at Airborne July 3

SOUTH PLATTSBURGH – Airborne Speedway will host a stand-alone Fourth of July Holiday Fireworks Spectacular Tuesday, July 3 and combine it with a new style of motorsports mayhem known as “car soccer”

Car soccer is a demolition derby variation popularized at Midwestern State Fairs. Teams of drivers attempt to score goals with a steel ball without getting knocked out of commission by their opponents.

“I think we’ve struck a chord with this one,” promoter Mike Perrotte said. “There’s been a lot of interest and inquiries about rules and signing up already.”

Kevin Chaffee Lands Full Time USAC DMA Midget Ride at Bear Ridge Speedway

BRADFORD, VT – “The Fairlee Flier,” Kevin Chaffee of Fairlee, Vermont Motorsports Magazine 2011 Driver of the Year, has landed a season-long ride in the 2011 USAC Dirt Midget Association championship winning team at Bear Ridge Speedway.

“We’re happy to welcome Kevin to the Seals-It team on a full time basis in 2012,” said team owner and New England Auto Racing Hall of Fame member Skip Matczak of Ellington, CT. “Kevin did a great job last year, finishing second his first time out and then going on to win two features. He has a great work ethic, really knows how to get around Bear Ridge Speedway and has a loyal following among the fans.”

Lakes Region Ice Racing Club weekly race – Challenging Track Conditions Make Exiting Racing

Moultonboro, NH – The Lakes Region Ice Racing Club sponsored its 4th weekend of automobile, oval track ice racing last Sunday on Lee Pond in Moultonboro, NH. The Jaffery and Milton ice racing clubs did not have enough ice to race and many of their members journeyed to the Lakes Region to race. Lots of cars and lots of fans made for a great show even as the track suffered from spring weather.

A new ¼ mile track was laid out on the north end of Lee Pond and racing started on a mild, winter afternoon with the hot laps and qualifying heats for the 5 divisions of cars: Juniors, 4Cyl Front Wheel Drive, 4Cyl Rear Wheel Drive, V8 Stock, and the mighty Modifieds.
