Theriault Excited To Head To New Hampshire Motor Speedway

FORT KENT, Maine – When Austin Theriault heads to New Hampshire Motor Speedway this time around, he’ll feel a whole lot more comfortable.

Theriault, who debuted at New England’s largest speedway as an ACT Late Model Tour rookie in 2010, goes back to the 1.058-mile oval for the first-ever ACT points-paying race with his family-owned team for the ACT All-Star Challenge on Friday and Saturday, August 12-13. Theriault is tied for seventh in the overall ACT standings and heads into the event off a fifth-place effort last time out at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway. (more…)

first time win at Oxford, ME., veteran Mike Holdridge, of Madison,
CT., took his turn in victory lane after capturing the Valenti Modified
Racing Series sanctioned, “Beech Ridge 100,” Saturday night, August 6, at the historic Beech Ridge Motor Speedway, Scarborough, ME.

Les Hinckley, of Windsor Locks, CT., and local favorite, David Pinkham,
Buxton, ME., swapped the lead back and forth in the early going with Pinkham taking the top spot leading laps 16 through 41.

Barre, VT – Mike Forsey of Westford, VT took the win in the 27th Annual M&M Beverage Enduro on Sunday, August 7. Forsey was the only driver to complete all 200 laps and claim the $3,000 top prize. He was two laps ahead of the remainder of the field. Sixty-six year old “Dipstick” Don Tofani of Plainfield, VT came home second with 198 laps complete while Mark Kline of Monson, MA took third also with 198 laps complete. (more…)

Burgess edges Turner at Unity Raceway

Unity, Maine – Jeff Burgess of East Madison survived a torrid battle with Freedom’s Dylan Turner to win the 35-lap Late Model feature race, topping the stock car racing card Saturday night at Unity Raceway.

Burgess, locked in a tight battle for the 2011 championship at “Maine’s Toughest Racing Oval,” lost the top spot to Turner on a mid-race restart, then returned the favor, prevailing in a five-lap shootout following a late-race caution flag.
