Austin Theriault of Fort Kent, Maine, returns home this weekend to the track where it all started for him as he competes in the Maine Racing Alliance’s Spud 150 at Spud Speedway in Caribou, Maine, on Saturday, September 25. Theriault, 16, gained regional attention for the first time in this race last year — winning the first Late Model race of his career on the track where he began racing in a 4-cylinder entry-level division. The race will be divided into two segments with a “halftime” break and a field inversion. Theriault is currently the Rookie of the Year leader on the ACT Late Model Tour, where he competes full-time and sits eighth in the overall standings with one race remaining. The Maine Racing Alliance is a 3-race Late Model series held at Speedway 95, Wiscasset Raceway and Spud Speedway. This is Theriault’s first Maine Racing Alliance event of the season.

Donny Lia and Stringer Motorsports, fresh off a 12th place finish at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, are ready to hit it big at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

“It’s Vegas! It’s such a fun place to go to for so many reasons,” says Lia. “Who doesn’t like the bright lights and excitement of Las Vegas? It’s also a very exciting race track. To be honest with you, I always had New Hampshire circled on my calendar, but Vegas is actually a close second for a lot of reasons. I like the city and really like the track. I have family out there and am looking forward to having them at the track with me. Plus, we have a lot of momentum going after our effort at New Hampshire. ”

Joey Doiron Wins PASS North Series Rookie Of The Year

BERWICK, Maine — When the PASS North Series season rolled to an end last weekend at White Mountain Motorsports Park in North Woodstock, N.H., there was one celebration nobody witnessed in front of the main grandstands.

That celebration took place in a tiny corner of the tiny track’s sprawling pit area.

Joey Doiron completed his season as the series’ Rookie of the Year.

NETS RACES MONADNOCKS FINALE

The New England Truck Series (NETS), will be participating this Saturday September 25, in Monadnock Speedway’s Finale Race program in Winchester NH, along with several other touring series in attendance. The points battle will be on between the Chevy powered Wells Communication sponsored #3 truck of Andy Lindeman of Poestenkill NY, and the #16 Chevy powered Lee Boy Construction Equipment sponsored truck of Willy Auchmoody of Highland NY, with a few points difference between them for the lead.

The second battle going on is between the East Hampton Auto Parts sponsored Chevy truck #85 of Greg Butler Jr. of East Hampton CT, against another Chevy powered FEB Construction sponsored truck #83 Gee Perry of Grandby CT, with a one point difference for third in the points.

BOBBY SANTOS III TO RACE AT SEEKONK IN RACING AGAINST BREAST CANCER

SEEKONK, MA- NASCAR Whelan Modified points leader Bobby Santos III, of
Franklin, MA has filed his entry to compete in Racing Against Breast Cancer at Seekonk
Speedway on October 2nd. Driving the Clyde Booth of Troutman, NC #61, Bobby will
compete in his 4th Seekonk Speedway event in a Super Modified at a track he admits to
struggling at as of late. “I am really excited about racing a super modified at Seekonk;
Seekonk Speedway is the track I first raced a Super Modified at in 2003”, said Bobby
by telephone on his way to Loudon, NH last week. That “rookie” experience ended with
Bobby winning the Consi, and a 5th place finish behind race winner Bentley Warren,
Randy Ritskes, Pat Abold & Chris Perley. Bobby will be doing double driving duty as
he is also competing at Stafford Springs that weekend in the Whelan Modified Tour. (more…)
