THE STORY
EAST MONTPELIER, Vt. – Emily Packard of East Montpelier, Vt., returns to ACT Late Model Tour competition with the Canaan 150 at Canaan Fair Speedway in Canaan, N.H., on Saturday, June 15. Packard has made three ACT starts this season, and two weeks ago, she became the first woman to win a NASCAR-sanctioned event at Canaan Fair Speedway when she took the victory in Twin 25s at the track on June 1. This weekend mark’s Packard’s first attempt at qualifying for an ACT Late Model Tour race at her home track, and she’ll do so with the new No. 9x Northstar Fireworks/Berlin Optical Expressions Ford she debuted last weekend in weekly competition. After the Canaan 150, Packard will cap her weekend with a 50-lap Late Model event at Thunder Road International Speedbowl in Barre, Vt., on Sunday, June 16.

The Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour is heading to the high banks of Riverside International Speedway this Saturday, June 15th for the Ron MacGillivray Chev Buick GMC 150. This will be the first event of the season for the track located just outside of Antigonish in James River, NS and round two of 12 for the popular stock car racing series. Riverside has produced 12 different winners in the last 14 Pro Stock Tour events held at the track. Grandstand gates for the Ron MacGillivray Chev Buick GMC 150 open at 3:00 PM; Atlantic Tiltload Time Trials will get underway at 5:10 PM with racing slated for 6:00 PM.

Waterbury, VT – The American Canadian Tour Stock Car Championship series will be headed to Canaan Fair Speedway in Canaan, NH for a 150-lap feature this Saturday, June 15. It will be ACT’s first return to the track since 2005.
The fast 1/3-mile has been host to six different winners in the 6 ACT events held there between 1997 and 2005. With a championship battle full of new faces, drivers are excited about the opportunity.

WINCHESTER, NH – Keith Carzello held Tyler Jarvenpaa in his shadow for 29 sizzling laps Saturday, June 8, at Monadnock Speedway to win his first Sportsman Modified feature of the season. Carzello became the fifth different winner in six weeks of competition at the high-banked speedplant.

BARRE, Vt. – Emily Packard of East Montpelier, Vt., finished 16th in the WLVB Late Model 50 at Thunder Road International Speedbowl in Barre, Vt., on Sunday, June 9. Packard fought an ill-handling race car throughout the day, and after dialing in the No. 9x Northstar Fireworks/Berlin Optical Expressions Chevrolet more to her liking, the 16-year-old driver fell victim to the track position game on the tight quarter-mile. One night earlier, Packard finished 13th in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series 35-lap Late Model feature at Canaan Fair Speedway in Canaan, N.H. Packard, who one week earlier became the first woman to win a NASCAR-sanctioned Late Model event at the track, debuted a new chassis and Ford engine package after qualifying 15th for the main event.

Amsoil NELCAR Legends Tour: John Peters
Star Speedway Race Report
EPPING, N.H. – John Peters of Westbrook, Maine, finished a career-best third in the Amsoil NELCAR Legends Tour 25-lap event at Star Speedway in Epping, N.H., on Saturday, June 8. Peters’ first podium finish in his rookie season came after leading a handful of laps in a door-to-door battle for the top spot throughout the middle stages of the event. The night of career firsts continued for Peters, who also qualified a season-high third for the feature event in just his inaugural visit to the tight quarter-mile track with the No. 51 Cash For Clunkers/Derek Kneeland Racing Sedan.
