Rocco, Gray, French, Bren, Dembek, & O’Connell Score September 12th NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Feature Wins at Stafford Speedway

(Stafford Springs, CT)—Stafford Speedway returned to NASCAR Whelen All-American Series racing action with a Five-Star Series event as part of the Five-Star Series program on September 12th. Taking down NASCAR Whelen All-American Series weekly feature wins on the night were Keith Rocco, who scored his second win of the 2014 season in the 40-lap SK Modified® feature, Adam Gray, who won his fifth feature of the year in the 30-lap Late Model Feature, and Justin Bren, who won his second Limited Late Model feature of the year. They were joined in NAPA Victory Lane by three first –time winners at Stafford and they were Paul French in the SK Light feature, Dan Dembek in the DARE Stock feature, and Devin O’Connell in the Legends Car feature.

Vermont 200 Weekend Saturday Card Washed Out, Sunday Main Event Schedule Adjusted
Shootouts to be run at noon prior to qualifying

WEST HAVEN, VT – Rains wreaked havoc at Devil’s Bowl Speedway on Saturday, washing out the opening day of the Mekkelsen RV Vermont 200 Weekend. Sunday’s program – which features a clear weather forecast – has been adjusted to provide a blockbuster day of stock car racing action, complete with a meet-and-greet autograph session with NASCAR Hall of Famer Bobby Allison.

The annual 10-lap non-winner “Shootout” races have been rescheduled to Sunday, September 14 and will be held at 12:00 noon before the regular action begins. First-round qualifying for the Bond Auto Parts Modified and Late Model divisions begins at 1:30 p.m., followed by twin-segment feature races for the Renegade and Central Vermont Motorcycles Mini Stock divisions, twin 50-lap Modified features, a 100-lap Late Model finale, and a 50-lap Enduro Series race.

Busy “Shootout Saturday” Highlights Vermont 200 Weekend at Devil’s Bowl Speedway
First-Round Qualifying, Non-Winner Shootouts, North East Mini Stock Tour debut on tap

WEST HAVEN, VT – Stock car racing fans will get far more than their money’s worth at the Mekkelsen RV Vermont 200 Championship Weekend at Devil’s Bowl Speedway on September 13-14, with two jam-packed days of action ahead. While feature races and championship celebrations highlight the Sunday portion of the event, the annual “Shootout Saturday” program has also become a can’t-miss.

The action begins at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 13 with qualifying heats for the Bond Auto Parts Modified, Renegade, and Central Vermont Motorcycles Mini Stock divisions. Non-Winner Shootouts are on tap for all four weekly Devil’s Bowl divisions, giving competitors who have yet to find victory lane a chance to shine. The Modified, Late Model, Renegade, and Mini Stock classes will each have a 10-lap Shootout race for drivers who have competed at the track prior to the Vermont 200 Weekend without having won a feature.

Doug Coby Hoping to Continue Stafford Speedway Success in 42nd Annual NAPA Auto Parts Fall Final Weekend Sept. 27-28

(Stafford Springs, CT)—For the past two seasons on the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, Doug Coby and Ryan Preece have been the two main protagonists in the chase for the championship with Coby beating Preece by 11 points in 2012 and Preece beating Coby last year by a 32 point margin. Fast forward to the 2014 season and Coby is once again in the thick of the NWMT championship race, only this time around his main rival is Justin Bonsignore.

After 11 events in five cities, over 40 competitors and 1,600 feature laps, it all comes down to the final 200 circuits to decide who will be crowned the 2014 Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour Champion – and who will cash the $10,000.00 cheque! Qualifying for the Dartmouth Dodge 200 gets underway at 3:10 PM with the Atlantic Tiltload Time Trials followed by championship racing set for 4:00 PM. Grandstand gates open at 1:00 PM.

SWEET, HOAR, LAPERLE LOOK FOR FIRST INVITATIONAL WIN

ACT LogoWaterbury, VT – The starting field for the 6th annual Bond Auto ACT Invitational at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Saturday, September 20 has been established. A field of 43 teams will compete in the 50-mile event that pays a minimum of seventy-five hundred dollars ($7,500) to win and one thousand dollars ($1,000) for 43rd. Teams have been chosen from throughout the Northeastern United States and the Province of Quebec, Canada to take part in one of the American Canadian Tour’s (ACT) most anticipated events of each year.
Previous Bond Auto ACT Invitationals have been won by some of the most notable names throughout the short tracks of the Northeast. Eddie MacDonald from Rowley, MA has three (3) Invitational wins; Joey Polewarczyk, Jr. (Pole) from Hudson, NH, and Ray Parent from Tiverton, RI each has won an Invitational. Using the unique ACT handicap system, every Invitational winner has come from a starting position no better than 19th-28th to take the wins.

Track, state, NASCAR championship and rookie titles on the line

WEST HAVEN, VT – Devil’s Bowl Speedway hosts a pressure-packed weekend of racing action at the Mekkelsen RV Vermont 200 Championship Weekend on September 13-14, as nearly a dozen championship and rookie titles are decided during the two-day show. Battles for the track’s weekly NASCAR Whelen All-American Series divisions will wrap up, along with the Vermont State Late Model Championship Series.
Todd Stone of Middlebury, VT seeks his second-straight Bond Auto Parts Modified division crown.

While his 2013 title was clinched in a 10-win runaway, Stone has been kept in check this year by Joey Roberts and Leon Gonyo. Roberts trails by 35 points (846-811) while Gonyo is another five markers back. Twin 50-lap features and a maximum available total of 105 points mean that the title is far from a lock for Stone.

Waterford Speedbowl Wild ‘n Wacky Wednesday 9/10 Results

Waterford, CT (September 10, 2014) – Waterford Speedbowl put the finishing
touches on the 14th season of Wild ‘n Wacky Wednesday, its popular
mid-week motorsports program. A pair of drivers used the final week of
racing to claim their first wins of the year, as Ed Ryan of Preston took
the Super X-Car win and Nickolas Hovey of Chaplin won the INEX Bandolero
feature. Mike Christopher Jr. of Wolcott had a record setting win in the
INEX Legend Cars and Wayne Shifflett of Preston took the X-Car race win.
The night’s two Mechanic Races were won by Charles Beal of Ledyard and
Eric Finkbein Sr. of Manchester, while John Kelly of New London took the
victory in the Officials Race to round out the night’s winners.
