Josh Sunn returns to victory lane in first after a two year drought beating out Bob Shepard who dominated the event for the first 46 laps in the DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds. Earl the Squirrel Maxham grabs his 2nd win of the year in the DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes.

brg-apw-08161401BRADFORD, VT – With the rain looming the Bradford Bull Dogs Benefit night sponsored by Swenson Insurance Saturday August 16, 2014 made it in the record books suffering only one delay due to the weather.

The second spoiler of the year in the DIRTcar Bond Auto Sportsman Modifieds happened Saturday night when Bob Shepard found himself with 5 to go leading the pack to the checkers. Shepard celebrating his 63rd birthday this week couldn’t think of a better birthday present to give himself. Unfortunately for Shepard another shoe having suffered a two year dry run was on a mission and ready to take away the gold from anyone in his way. A rain delay on lap 19 changed the condition of the track, and Shepard while able to hold on to the lead for most of the event, found Sunn on lap 37 flying by on the outside. Sunn would lead the remaining three circuits and claim the checkers with Shepard holding on for second. Finishing in third was Richie Simmons with his best finish of the season. Completing the top five were Kevin Chaffee and Chris Donnelly.
