Barre, VT – Just over one week remains for competitors of the 29th Annual M&M Beverage Enduro to prepare their rides for the 200-laps of thrashing and crashing at Thunder Road in Barre, VT on Sunday, August 18. The “People’s Race”, as it has become known, gives the average fan the chance to tackle the Barre-highbanks for a shot at the $3,000 grand prize.
Long-time veteran of the M&M Beverage Enduro and the 1987 Enduro Champion Don “Dipstick” Tofani of Plainfield filed the first 2013 entry. He will wheel one of the over 100 nearly street-legal cars, which will be lined-up three-wide before taking off for the 200-laps with stops only occurring for fires and roll-overs.
Dipstick will be joined by last year’s Enduro winner Paul Dudley of Waitsfield, Barre Mayor Thom Lauzon, Jeff Spooner of Essex, and Craftsbury’s Joel Hodgdon. Thunder Road Rough Riders Alan Derrington, and Justin Johnson are also among the over 40 filed entries so far.

NAPLES, ME (August 1) – Following the success of the 40th running of the TD Bank 250, Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North Super Late Model teams must now shift their attention to the next test. What lies ahead is a challenge that will see PASS North race in two countries in three days. It starts on Sunday with the series’ first trip of the season to New Hampshire’s White Mountain Motorsports Park and will be followed by a trip to Canada on Tuesday for the second leg of the Autobus La Quebecoise Triple Crown. The Budweiser 150 at Autodrome Chaudiere could be the biggest motorsports event ever held in Quebec and will feature Sprint Cup Series star Kyle Busch. And, with a championship struggle that sees the top five in points separated by less than 100 points, any misstep in the next two races could be detrimental towards claiming the 2013 PASS North title.

ACT Late Model Tour: Emily Packard
Sanair Super Speedway Race Preview
THE STORY
EAST MONTPELIER, Vt. – Emily Packard of East Montpelier, Vt., makes her first trip north of the border for the Sanair 150 at Sanair Super Speedway in St. Pie, Que., on Saturday, August 3. The event is a combination race featuring both the U.S.-based ACT Late Model Tour and the Quebec-based ACT Castrol Series, and it will be held on the second-largest track the series visit during the season. Sanair is a .875-mile, triangular oval, and though Packard has never been to the track, she has fared well this season on the larger half-mile tracks ACT routinely competes on. She recorded her best career finish at Devils Bowl Speedway, a flat half-mile, back in May. Packard will book-end her race weekend with 50-lap Late Model features at Thunder Road International Speedbowl in Barre, Vt., on both Thursday, August 1, and Sunday, August 4.

The schedule for Friday’s “C.J. Richards Memorial 67” presented by Carrara Masonry & Concrete is attached. Pit gates will open for the early practice at 2:00pm until 3:30pm. Pits will reopen at 4:00pm, with practice at 5:00pm. Qualifying is at 7:00pm.
Modifieds – This event counts for track points, NASCAR points, and Northern Modified Challenge Series points. Because this is an NMCS race, heat lineups will be determined by random draw, and the feature lineup will be decided by a fan drawing an invert pill. There will NOT be a semi-feature this week. The feature race is 67 laps.
Late Models – You will run one set of heats and two 20-lap features with a “split” purse. The first feature will be lined up like any other event – the qualified cars from the heats will receive their handicap, all others will go to the rear. The entire field will be re-handicapped for the second feature (not inverted from the finish of the first feature). Both races (and heats) will count for points.
