Maillet makes off with $3K!

Like a thief in the night, Matt Maillet from Burton, stole the show at Speedway 660 on Saturday night. Maillet won the Martins Home Heating Sportsman 100 in front of the biggest crowd of the racing season. Dave O’Blenis, who had the dominant car, led the first three-quarters of the race before mechanical issues forced him to retire.

Speedway 95JOHN KALEL II TAKES SPEEDWAY 95 LATE MODEL FEATURE

For the second week in a row, John Kalel II of Orrington spent the majority of the Dysart’s Late Model feature locked in a side by side battle for the lead. Last week he ended up finishing fifth, but this week he fought off a persistent Ryan Deane of Winterport to post his second win of the season. Deane led the majority of the laps in the caution free 40 lap feature, although never by more than a foot or two, until Kalel, who was running the inside groove, managed to put his car ahead of Deane’s at the stripe and take the win. Deane finished second with last week’s winner Andy Saunders of Ellsworth finishing third. Fourth went to Corinna’s Paul White with Ryan Modery of Hermon in fifth.

FLEMMING GETS SECOND VICTORY OF SEASON IN LOCKHART TRUCK CENTER 150

_1MG2091(Halifax, NS, June 22, 2013) Halifax, NS’s John Flemming raced his #97 Action Car & Truck Accessories Dodge Charger to victory lane Saturday evening during the Lockhart Truck Center 150. Flemming dueled with defending series champion Shawn Turple (Enfield, NS) for a majority of the second half of the race, with the final lead change taking place with 17 laps to go. Craig Slaunwhite (Terence Bay, NS) brought his car home in third at his home track, with George Koszkulics (New Glasgow,NS) and sophomore Dylan Gosbee (Cornwall, PE) finishing out the top five.

The pair split twin 25-lap features for the Bond Auto Parts Modified division during NASCAR Whelen All-American Series action.
