NELCAR Returns to NHMS Road Course

When the Amsoil Nelcar Legends Tour heads on their next trip at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, not only will it be on the road course, but they will be racing for more than just a trophy. The next race will be a National Qualifier for the 2011 Legends Road Course Nationals.

The event takes place during the popular 88th Annual Loudon Classic motorcycle event, the longest running motorcycle event in North America. The 1.6 mile road course features 12 difficult corners, with mostly left turns with a few hard right handers. It is famous for the legendary bowl, which is one of the most exciting turns in all of road racing.

Jeff Burgess makes it two in a row at Unity Raceway.

Looking back on the season opener win at Unity Raceway. “The day went pretty smooth. We unloaded from the trailer, put our new tires on. It was pretty fast all day long, started on the outside pole in the heat. Took the lead on lap one, led every lap, and started on the pole for the feature.”

As the green flag flew for the 1st late model race of the season, the “X” car had the lead, and led about 95 laps of the 111. Leading the most important lap, and taking the checkered flag to win the 1st race of the season.

Ben Rowe wins a PASS South/National thriller at Motor Mile Speedway

The Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South Super Late Models returned to Motor Mile Speedway in Virginia on Saturday, May 28th, for the first time since the inaugural race at the track in 2008. This time, the event also marked the second PASS National championship race of the season. After 150 laps of grueling competition, Ben Rowe edged Jay Fogleman at the line to win his first series race of the year, making six different winners in six races this season in PASS South competition.

TOUR-TYPE MODIFIEDS TOP THE BILLING AT THOMPSON THIS WEEK

THOMPSON, CT. The first of two Tour-Type Modified races will be held this Thursday, June 2nd, at the Thompson International Speedway. The Tour-Type Modifieds were a big hit with Thompson fans last year and are expected to provide exciting, high-speed, wheel-to-wheel competition once again.

Many of the best Modified drivers in the northeast are expected to be on hand for this race. Qualifying will be done with heat races to determine the starting positions in the 40-lap feature event. This format for the Tour-Type Modifieds is reminiscent of the golden era of Modified racing. Both competitors and fans look forward to this extremely competitive style of racing for the most popular type of race cars in New England. The Tour-Type Modifieds will make their second appearance at Thompson on Thursday, August 18th.
