asfsdfs(Stafford Springs, CT)—Stafford Speedway returned to NASCAR Whelen All-American Series racing action with Girls Night Out / Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund Track Walk program with all 6 divisions in action plus a track walk that raised money for the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund. Taking down feature victories were on the night were Ryan Preece in the SK Modified® feature, Michael Bennett in the Late Model feature, Stephen Kopcik in the SK Light feature, Al Saunders in the Ltd. Late Model feature, Marcello Rufrano in the DARE Stock feature, and Dana DiMatteo in the Legend Cars feature.

Pembroke Takes Second Win of July on Fairpoint Night

FairPoint to Open Thunder Road Thursday Night RacingBarre, VT – Kyle Pembroke rode the outside line to pick up his second Thunder Road Late Model win in the last three races at the Fairpoint Communications Trophy Dash on Thursday, July 16.

East Montpelier’s Pembroke started on the pole of the 50-lap main event, but used the high groove to get the jump on Milton’s Eric Badore following the race’s only caution on lap 28. Jason Corliss and Nick Sweet followed Pembroke through to second and third, but became locked in a battle of their own for the second position, allowing Pembroke to hang on for the win.

NEW ENGLAND MOTORSPORTS NORTH

asrffsdrGeoff Rollins passed Joe Arena on a restart on lap 8, and never looked back, powering to the victory in the Christmas in July event at Monadnock Speedway.

Rollins used the outside groove on an early race restart on lap 8, when Charlestown, NH driver Bryan Town’s rear-end expired, bringing out the caution. Rollins would fend off challenges from Chris Douton and Arena on five other restarts, the final one on lap 38, setting up a green-white-checker finish. Rollins jumped ahead, as Mike Palin spun on the final lap, collecting Armand Cote, ending the race under caution.

NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Returns to Stafford August 7th for Call Before You Dig 150

fasfrter(Stafford Springs, CT)—The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour will return to Stafford Speedway on August 7th for the Call Before You Dig 150, the third of four NWMT races to be held at Stafford this season. 2-time NWMT Champion Doug Coby is currently tied atop the points standings with 2013 NWMT Champion Ryan Preece with NAPA Spring Sizzler winner Woody Pitkat only 2 points behind.

ACT Heavyweights Helliwell, Pole Head to Airborne for International

JASON TRUNDY TAKES ROADRUNNER FEATURE AT 95

dfsdvsAfter stopping Sam Betts’ 3 race win streak last week, Jason Trundy of Winterport has started a streak of his own as he made it two in a row in the Wednesday night RoadRunners at Speedway 95. Trundy started 26th in the 43 car starting field for the 20 lap feature and steadily worked his way through the pack. With the help of three red flags stopping the action, Trundy took the lead on lap 15, and held it through two more red flags in the final five laps, winning two drag race restarts with Sam Betts of Bradley. Betts finished in second, with Andrew Cossette of Eddington finishing in third. Fourth went to Rick Gomm of Dixmont with Trey Brown of Winterport finishing fifth.
