Kevin Chaffee claims the daily double with wins in DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds & WYKR SCoNE events
BRADFORD, VT – The “Fairlee Flyer” flew to victory lane victorious not once but twice dominantly in the Bond Auto DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds and WYKR Sprint Cars of New England. Kevin Chaffee, Bradford VT saw more laps at high speed but never tired on R&M Automotive Service Center night. It took Chaffee 14 laps to take the lead away from Mike Gendron. From there he would make it thru lapped traffic on the high side to claim his first win of the season and the night. Derek Graham Woodsville NH coming from deep in the pack worked his way to the front for second, but was never able to set any serious challenge on Chaffee. Jason Gray E Thetford VT was unable to get by Graham and would have to settle for the final victory lane position. Rounding out the top five were Mike Gendron and Adam Pierson.
The Wells River Chevrolet Sportsman Coupes had a challenge with a potential for an extra $300 to the winner with the combination of a $100 bonus from WRC Racing and the Brass Ring at $200 to the winner if the event runs green to checkers. The challenge turned out to be a bit more than most could handle as the yellow waved a total of six times before half way resulting in a single file restart after the final caution. This got the field settled down and they were able to go the next half without incident. Survival of the fittest became the theme, and when the checkers finally waved last year’s track champion claimed the win and the WRC Racing portion of the bonus, with Jeremy Beckley coming home in second and Michael Danforth in third. Buster Kathan had a great performance starting on the pole and ending up one spot short of victory lane if fourth. Matt Ellsworth claimed the final victory lane spot crossing the line in fifth.

Speedway 95 News Release 05-23-15 by visiting Bill Butler (Thank You for helping us out)
(Hermon, Me) I was a full night of racing at Speedway 95 Saturday, as two visiting divisions, the Wicked Good Racing Association, and the Outlaws Super Series added to the regular racing at Speedway 95 on Saturday.
In the visiting Outlaws Super Series Ricky Burgess seem the car to beat, after taking the lead at lap 10, and holding on tightly until lap 36 when mechanical issues with his ride drew and the caution and took him out of contention for the win. Kris Watson of Hermon, looking to extend his season long streak worked his way up the field from near the rear at the start to 2nd place when the caution flag flew at lap 42. Outlaws race director had a bounty of $100 extra dollars to whomever broke that streak and Joey Doyon of Winterport took up the challenge, crossing the line first for the win, with Watson in second. Kris Matchett of Skowhegan finished third.

Bristol, CT’s Joe Arena is prepared for a run at the championship, while adjusting to a new race car. Arena is a former racer at New London-Waterford Speedbowl, but the rules package for the North East Street Stock Tour (NESST) is a bit different than what he’s used to driving. Says Arena, “I’m not used to driving the NESST car. There is more horsepower with these cars, and we need to cure our forward bite, which we were lacking at Lee [USA Speedway].”
