Seekonk Speedway 7/13/13 Results

seekonkDylan Estrella picks up Phil’s Propane Triple Crown/Mike Marfeo Jr Memorial race. Tom Scully Jr, John Hanafin and John Paiva win SYSCO Boston features.

Tom Scully Jr picked up his first win of the season, holding off a hard charging Fred Astle and Dave Darling. Elmer Wing III took off at the start and set the pace for the first several laps. On the first restart of the main, Scully got the grip on the outside, and took over the lead. Wing hung onto second until Darling got by. Kevin Casper tried to follow, but was overtaken by Astle.

On a lap 21 restart, Darling held tough, and became the third leader of the event, but couldn’t close the deal, and Scully was able to maintain the inside lane, regaining the lead after three laps. With Darling on the outside, Astle slid under the defending champion, and the duo traded the second position back and forth over the final several laps, with Astle edging Darling for second. Kyle Casper finished fourth with Dick Houlihan fifth.

Seekonk Speedway is set to induct first nominees onto Wall of Fame

seekonkSeekonk Speedway is set to induct the first group onto the Seekonk Speedway/630 WPRO am Wall of Fame. In a fan vote done from January through March, eight individuals have been elected to represent over 60 years of racing.

On Saturday, July 13, the founder of Seekonk Speedway, D. Anthony Venditti, the Godfather, will join his wife, the First Lady of NE Motorsports as the first to rightfully take their place, at the top of the Wall of Fame.

D. Anthony wasn’t afraid to take on an issue that would benefit the overall good for the sport. He was an innovator, a pioneer in the sport that is rarely seen. He created A.R.C., which stands for Auto Racing Club, to compete with the many groups that were out there competing. He created the Pro Stocks in 1977, which continues to lead the action at Seekonk.

Seekonk Speedway Open Wheel Wednesday

seekonkEntries are coming in for Seekonk Speedway’s 9th Annual Open Wheel Wednesday Modified Madness.

July 17th is the date, Seekonk Speedway the place. With $10,000 guaranteed to the winner, this has become “A can’t miss” event for the top modified drivers in the region, making it one of the highest paying modified races in the Northeast.

Seekonk Speedway Results for 6/29/2013

John Paiva picks up Phil’s Propane Triple Crown round two. Ryan Vanasse, Bobby Pelland III and Bob Bettencourt Jr win on RI Shriners night.

Ryan Vanasse picked up his first win of the 2013 season, shaking off a rough start. Kevin Folan brought the field down to the green, but the A&A Auto Parts Chevy quickly jumped out front and showed that he had the car to beat. Folan hung onto second until Ken Spencer moved past, and fell to fourth as Fred Astle got by. Astle worked his way quickly by Spencer and tried to hunt down Vanasse. Bobby Pelland III was fifth at the halfway point.

Seekonk Speedway Fast Friday Results 6/21

seekonkNick Ladyga wins Phil’s Propane Triple Crown Legends National qualifier. Bill Doyle, Jeff Dombrowski, Kaitlyn Donovan and TJ Morsehead also winners.

Voluntown, CT’s Nick Ladyga continues his winning streak at Seekonk with his third consecutive Nick’s Pit Stop Legends event. The win gives him a guaranteed starting position in the INEX Nationals, and a leg up in the Phil’s Propane Triple Crown Series. Chris Robbins was the early leader before Nick Lascoula moved past and into the lead. Ladyga wasn’t far behind, after starting eighth in the field, taking second from Robbins on the fourth lap. He chased down Lascoula, and the pair raced bumper to bumper until the caution came out on lap 8.
