SPARTA, Ky. — What was Kyle Busch’s dominant impression of his victory in the inaugural NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Kentucky Speedway?

It wasn’t that he’ll be written into the record book as the first Cup winner at the 1.5-mile track, the first speedway introduced into the series in 10 years.

No, Busch will remember Saturday’s Quaker State 400 at Kentucky as the last thing he won on the way to his next race—in this case Sunday’s marquee Super Late Model event at Slinger Speedway in Wisconsin. That’s the way Busch thinks—win and move on.

CAVENDISH FARMS PEI INVITATIONAL ON TAP SUNDAY AT CENTRE FOR SPEED

(Shediac, N.B.) — The Centre for Speed, Atlantic Canada’s Super Speedway and “Metro Moncton’s Playground of Power”, will host its annual Cavendish Farms PEI Invitational stock car racing program this Sunday afternoon at 4 p.m. – a fitting end to the Shediac Lobster Festival and the Atlantic Nationals.

Sunday’s racing program will feature points championship racing in Shediac Sportsman, Mini Stock and Four Fun divisions with minimum guarantees for all PEI competitors, as well as a 35-lap feature for Super Sportsman competitors.

MID-SEASON CHAMPIONSHIPS MAKE OR BREAK FOR T- ROAD TEAMS

Waterbury, VT – It has taken the better part of the Thunder Road season to get the top dogs positioned to take advantage of the Times Argus Mid-Season Championship double point extra-distance race coming up Thursday, July 14, 2011. Including the American Canadian Tour Merchants Bank opener, there have been eight races with seven (7) different winners in the competitive Late Model division.

There are just 79 points separating the top ten. The Times Argus Mid-Season Championship awards 150 points to the winner. The most recent winner, Dave Pembroke, from Montpelier, VT, is a former Thunder Road champion and he vaulted his team into contention last Thursday, going from eleventh in the standings to third by winning the Charter Communication main event. The Vermont State Employees Credit Union/ Lamoille Valley Ford team is just 45 points out of the lead heading to the mid-season battle on Thursday, July 14th.
