New Hampshire Motor Speedway Race Preview
THE STORY
Austin Theriault of Fort Kent, Maine, heads to the first ACT Late Model Tour points race ever held at New Hampshire Motor Speedway for the ACT All-Star Challenge on Friday and Saturday, August 12-13. The race will be run in two segments, one 25-lap segment and one 50-lap segment. Theriault, who sits tied for seventh in the ACT standings, will make his 2011 Tour debut with his family-owned team fresh off a season-best fifth-place finish at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway last time out. Theriault competed at New Hampshire as a rookie last season, one of just three dozen drivers invited to compete in an ACT-sanctioned invitational at the track in September. (more…)
As the season heads into its final run to decide the champion, the Amsoil Nelcar Legends tour was back at Unity Raceway this past weekend for another thrilling event. As many of the top drivers in the series were set to start from the rear of the field, others who have yet to win were running out of time to do so, and tonight was a perfect opportunity to shine in the Unity lights. With 14 Legends Cars taking to the rough and tough track, the fans were treated to another great race. (more…)

CT., took his turn in victory lane after capturing the Valenti Modified
Racing Series sanctioned, “Beech Ridge 100,” Saturday night, August 6, at the historic Beech Ridge Motor Speedway, Scarborough, ME.
Les Hinckley, of Windsor Locks, CT., and local favorite, David Pinkham,
Buxton, ME., swapped the lead back and forth in the early going with Pinkham taking the top spot leading laps 16 through 41. (more…)
The Benjamin Motorsports team went into Seekonk Speedway with high hopes of a good run after battling for the lead in 2010 and having a flat tire. This years results were about the same. Travis and team set the fastest time in practice so everyone was excited to get the race underway. (more…)
Unity, Maine – Jeff Burgess of East Madison survived a torrid battle with Freedom’s Dylan Turner to win the 35-lap Late Model feature race, topping the stock car racing card Saturday night at Unity Raceway.
Burgess, locked in a tight battle for the 2011 championship at “Maine’s Toughest Racing Oval,” lost the top spot to Turner on a mid-race restart, then returned the favor, prevailing in a five-lap shootout following a late-race caution flag. (more…)
