Lee, NH – The NEMA Midgets made their only 2011 appearance at Lee USA
Speedway on Friday night, with veteran Greg Stoehr taking down the feature
win. Stoehr spent the early part of his racing career campaigning a Late
Model at Lee, which made the win doubly sweet.
Stoehr took the lead on lap two, and was never seriously challenged on the
way to his first feature event win of the 2011 season. Jeremy Frankoski,
Jeff Abold, defending NEMA champ and Greg’s brother Russ Stoehr, and Anthony
Nocella wrapped up the top five spots.

Hudson N.H. – Jared Soucy picked up his third Thunder Light feature win of the 2011 racing season this
past Sunday evening at Hudson International Speedway. Carlos Esquivel brought the field to the drop
of the green flag and led the first three laps of the caution free event. Soucy took over at that point and
Justin Beecher followed Soucy past Esquivel into second place. Soucy and Beecher waged a side by side
battle for the lead eventually being joined by Chad Wendell to make it a three way battle. With Beecher
and Wendell battling for second it took a little pressure off Soucy and he was able to cross the finish line
a few car lengths ahead of Beecher in second place and Wendell in third place. Meegan Lord was fourth
followed by Esquivel and Mike Erickson Jr. Beecher won the heat.

Story by Chris Roy
Shaun Buffington, driver of the 23 legend car has won his 5th straight race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway (NHMS). Sunday morning prior to the NASCAR Sprint Cup race the NELCAR Legends took to the track to race on the 1/4 Mini Magic Mile.
The racing line up was set by qualifying practice time, Shaun’s teammate Tom Gray took the pole for the feature event. After qualifying the 23 team just made one adjustment to the car, Shaun said, “the carburetors were a little flat I think we had to much jet in it, so we changed carburetors for the feature. The track was greasy probably because of the heat, but it was loose for everybody so it was even.”

Chevrolet Extends Lead in Manufacturers’ Cup Standings
LOUDON, N.H. (July 17, 2011) – Ryan Newman was truly “Rocketman” behind the wheel of his No. 39 U.S. Army Chevrolet today at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. He started on the pole, led a race-high 119 out of 301 laps and was in front of his Stewart-Haas Racing team owner and teammate Tony Stewart, No. 14 Office Depot/Mobil 1 Chevrolet as the closing laps of the race clicked off.
But, it wasn’t as easy as it sounds as crew chief Tony Gibson told him they were very close on fuel and to save as much as he could and hope there was no green-white-checkered finish in their future. (more…)
