Inaugural race in Rumney, NH, kicks off exciting new season for East Coast Snocross,

CHESHIRE, Conn. (Dec. 5, 2013) — Any time a new season of championship snocross racing gets under way, the energy and excitement can be felt, heard, and often, pretty difficult to resist.
When that season lid-lifter takes place at a fresh new venue, the anticipation for racers and fans grows day by day.
East Coast Snocross (ECS) is proud to launch its 2013-14 season at a first-of-its kind facility for northern New England, as Wicked Snocross, Inc., hosts Round 1 on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 14-15, at the Riverbrook RV Resort in scenic Rumney, New Hampshire.

Thompson, Conn: The Sunoco World Series of Auto Racing presented by Xtra Mart was highlighted by an exciting NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour finish that saw Rowan Pennink drive to victory lane and Ryan Preece earn a solid third place finish to earn the series championship. Other feature winners on the final day of the World Series were Kerry Malone in the Sunoco Modified Series, John Zych, Jr. in NEMA midgets, Ben Seitz in ISMA action, and Larry Gelinas in the Granite State Pro Stock Series.
Rowan Pennink used a late-race pass on lap 133 to take the lead and eventual win in the Sunoco World Series 150 presented by Xtra Mart Sunday afternoon. The victory was Pennink’s second win in the series. Ryan Preece’s third place finish secured the 2013 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Championship for the driver, who becomes the youngest champion in series history at 22 years, 11 months and 25 days old. The championship also marks the second title for Flamingo Motorsports. The team previously won with driver Mike Stefanik in 2006.

Waterford Speedbowl announced it confirmed its 2013 Wild ‘n Wacky Wednesday series track champions. Three first-time champions were named and another achieved a
place in track history with their third title overall. In total, six champions were declared.
Middletown’s Joey Ternullo became the youngest Legend Cars champion in track history while Bill Reiman of Southington and Anthony Marvin of Colchester each won their first championships in the respective Super X-Car and Bandolero divisions. Brad Voglesong, also from Middletown, took a third X-Car title to become the only driver to accomplish the feat.

Reid Lanpher Back In Victory Lane
JR Motorsports Driver Topples NELCAR Field, Keeps Momentum
WISCASSET, Maine – Reid Lanpher of Manchester, Maine, capitalized on a late-race restart to take the lead with three laps remaining and win the 25-lap Amsoil NELCAR Legends Tour feature at Wiscasset Speedway in Wiscasset, Maine, on Saturday, July 6.
The victory was the first Legends win in a part-time schedule this season for the JR Motorsports development driver.
“I can’t remember a race I’ve had to work that hard for,” said the 15-year-old Lanpher. “I was not even close to being the fastest car there. We’d been third for a while there, and then we got shuffled back. I knew I wasn’t fast enough, but I let my tires cool down some and gave it all I had on the last restart.

Weather troubles create exciting Modified doubleheader on Friday
WEST HAVEN, VT – Mother Nature has been a thorn in the side of stock car racing fans throughout the northeast, but Vermont’s Devil’s Bowl Speedway is fighting back. After losing two of the first three regular Friday night summer programs to rain, Devil’s Bowl will start making up for lost time by adding the exciting “Twin 25” format to Carmody Ford Night on Friday, June 14 for the Bond Auto Parts Modified division of the weekly NASCAR Whelen All-American Series.
