Crazy Horse Driver Stamps Mark On ACT Castrol Series With Victory
SAINT EDOUARD, Quebec – Dany Trepanier visited Mitch Green before the start of the 2011 ACT Castrol Series season and promised him one thing.
“I will be annoying,” Trepanier told the owner of Crazy Horse Racing.
Trepanier was coming off a rookie season in the ACT Castrol Series, and the veteran of the Sportsman ranks and an eight-year go-karting career needed some help. He works with a small crew on the No. 19 Trepanier Motorsports Ford Fusion – including himself as both crew chief and driver – and wanted somebody to help him find more speed. (more…)
Grimes, Iowa – Brett Moffitt, driver of the Hattori Racing Enterprises (HRE) #11 Toyota, will carry a 20 point lead in the championship point standings into the next race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway (NHMS) on Saturday, September 22nd, for the G-Oil 100. Moffitt has a total of 9 wins, 7 poles, 28 top fives, and 34 top 10s in his 43 career starts in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East. With only 4 races remaining on the 2012 schedule, HRE will also maintain its 20 point lead in the owner point standings.
Even a championship caliber race team can not field quality cars without adequate sponsorship dollars, and the competition for sponsors is as intense today as it has ever been in the world of stock car racing. In recent years, the economy has forced many race teams to cut back, and after the rain out at Greenville-Pickens on Labor Day, it began to look as though the #11 HRE Toyota might become one of the growing list of casualties. This week, ACT Late Model teams across the northeast held their breath hoping for the call: an invitation to the 4th Annual Bond Auto ACT Invitational at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Saturday, September 22. No one may have been more satisfied than Vermont teen sensation Emily Packard.
“We were so on edge, I got the call in school today and I’ve been shaking ever since,” said Packard out of breath. “I am so excited about racing up there. We were so happy with the Test ‘N Tune, I’ve been telling my crew ‘We have to go to Loudon’ since the winter,” she finished.
Packard and her family team can finally be at ease, as she received one of 11 final invites. The news couldn’t have been any sweeter for the first year Late Model driver. (more…)

Over the past three weeks, the RPM Motorsports No. 37 GossCars.com Dodge Charger has won two straight ACT Late Model Tour points races and rallied to finish fifth in the Showdown at Chaudiere – setting Hoar and crew chief Rick Paya up for a run through some of the most prestigious races of the entire season. Waterbury, VT – When the checkered flag drops this Sunday, September 16 at Autodrome St-Eustache, a Champion of the Série ACT Castrol Series will be crowned. The epic championship battle has morphed into a two-car war between defending Champion Patrick Laperle and top talent Jean-Francois Déry who will put everything on the line in hopes of a title this weekend.
Déry started the year off in style with a pair of third place finishes in the first two events, but a stray rock at Riverside Speedway left him with a 24th place finish, and dropped him from the point lead down to sixth. Laperle suffered transmission problems in the second event of the year, leaving both teams behind the eight ball in the early going. (more…)

Beech Ridge Motor Speedway Race Preview
John Peters of Westbrook, Maine, will make his Amsoil NELCAR Legends Tour debut when the tour heads to Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough, Maine, for a 50-lap event on Saturday, September 15. The annual extra-distance race is part of the PASS 400 weekend at Beech Ridge, where Peters, 15, became the youngest champion in track history this summer in the entry-level Beetle Bug JV division. The race will be Peters’ only appearance in a Legend car this season, as he takes aim at the series on a regular basis in 2013. (more…)

BRMS Champ Ready To Tackle PASS North Series’ Best On Own Turf
WINDHAM, Maine – Brad Babb would like to add one more piece of hardware to the trophy case this weekend when the PASS North Series invades Beech Ridge Motor Speedway for its premiere event of the season.
Babb, the 2012 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series track champion, will join some three dozen Super Late Model teams from across New England and Canada in the SouthernMaineMotors.com 300 at Beech Ridge this Sunday, September 16. Following open practice at the track on Friday afternoon, qualifying begins at 12:15 p.m. on Saturday and the main event is slated for approximately 3 p.m. on Sunday.
Babb, who won a 45-lap Pro Series feature in May at Beech Ridge, believes he has an advantage after running all summer at the .333-mile oval. (more…)

The most closely watched division will be the Super Late Models where, mathematically, there are seven drivers in contention for that division’s title.
Derek Ramstrom, the 2009 and 2010 champion, holds a slim 8 point lead over Jim Banfield going into the final points event of the year with Mike O’Sullivan a mere 14 markers behind the leader. The 2011 champion, Larry Gelinas finds himself 38 points down with veteran Dick Houlihan 44 off the pace. They may be long shots, but George Bessette and Colby Fournier are still in the running as well. A win is worth 50 points and every finishing spot that follows is reduced by two points each. (more…)
