IZOD IndyCar Stars Take on NHMS for Big Debut Next Month

LOUDON, N.H. (July 5, 2011)- At speeds approaching 175 mph, IZOD IndyCar Series drivers Will Power and Pippa Mann tested at New Hampshire Motor Speedway today in preparations for the MoveThatBlock.com INDY 225 on Sunday, Aug. 14.

Will Power, driver of the No. 12 Verizon Team Penske Dallara/Honda took his first laps around “The Magic Mile” today attempting to learn the ins-and-outs of racing a flat one-mile oval.

Joey Polewarczyk Jr to pilot a Fadden Racing Inc. entry in the upcoming NASCAR K&N Pro Series East Race at NHMS

(Loudon, NH) – Joey Polewarczyk Jr, a Hudson, NH native will once again compete for car owner Mike Olsen and Fadden Racing Inc. of North Haverhill, NH in the upcoming NASCAR K&N Pro-Series East 125-Lap event, held at New Hampshire Motor Speedway (NHMS)

Polewarczyk last drove for Fadden Racing in the spring of 2010, with starts at Greenville-Pickens Speedway in South Carolina and South Boston Speedway in Virginia.

“Racin” Calvin Rankin Takes $1500 Top Prize

Shediac – July 3rd, 2011 – It was a great day of racing at the CENTRE for Speed Entertainment Park in Grand Barachois as car counts continued to grow week over week in all divisions and new drivers continued to get their shot to stand on the podium. Race II of the Maritime Super Series once again saw the hot foot go to Calvin Rankin (#45) of Quispamsis who managed a pass on lap 97 of the 100 lap feature event to overtake a hard running Robert Raynes (#41) of Summerville, NB. Raynes lead most of the final 50 laps and held off Luc Bourgouis (#88) of Memramcook as they raced side by side for more than 30 laps and several restarts until Bourgeois got the jump on Raynes on a restart at lap 87 and lead the second segment to the end. Rankin had won the first 50 lap segment and needed to finish 2nd to win the overall 1st place trophy and prize money of $1500. On lap 97 he was able to get by Raynes (#41)for the win. Bourgeois who won the segment segment finished second overall and Cal Hatfield (#11) of Rothesay was third. Bourgoius and Dan “Buzzsaw” Bourque (#15) of Grand Digue were heat winners. (more…)

Reno Gervais Earns Second Career Win on Pepsi Holiday Fireworks Night

Barre, VT – Island Pond’s Reno Gervais earned his second career win in a last lap thriller at Thunder Road during the Pepsi Holiday Fireworks event on Monday, July 4. Gervais was out about a half a straight away lead with just eight laps remaining when hard charging Lt. Governor Phil Scott of Berlin and Cris Michaud of East Montpelier cleared traffic in the second and third positions respectively.

Lee USA Speedway

Lee, NH – Two-time defending champion Grant Aither took the Prime Storage Late Model Sportsmen by storm at Lee USA Speedway on Friday night, picking up his second win of the season in the E Keys 4 Cars sponsored 100-lap main event.

A two-lap time trial session saw Aither snag the pole over Bobby Melvin and Geoff Rollins, but a pre-race redraw put the trio of drivers back in the fourth and fifth rows when flagman Bryon Callen dropped the green.
