NNS Race Recap: Stenhouse Scores First Win At Iowa

NEWTON, Iowa—Ricky Stenhouse Jr. won Sunday’s John Deere Dealers 250 at Iowa Speedway for his first career victory in the Nationwide Series.

Making his 51st start, Stenhouse, 23, outdueled Carl Edwards and Brad Keselowski, the only Sprint Cup Series regulars in the race, for the win.

MCLAUGHLIN TAKES 95 STRICTLY STREET SERIES EVENT

Andrew Mclaughlin of Harrington made it two in a row Saturday night at Speedway 95 as he wired the Strictly Street Coca-Cola Series race #1 at the 1/3 mile Hermon oval. McLaughlin won the qualifier for the event which put him on the pole for the feature, and he just kept on leading from there. Roger Smith Jr. of Clifton finished the race in second, after Cody Brassbridge of Frankfort pulled off the track on lap 20 and parked his Camaro with mechanical trouble. Shelby Kimball of Cornville placed third with the father son duo of Shawn Hamel II and Shawn Hamel of Bangor finishing fourth and fifth respectively.

Dysart’s Late Model action also saw a repeat winner as Mike Hopkins of Hermon took control of the 35 lap feature early on in the event and went on to post his second win of the season. While Hopkins and second place finisher Dale Swoboda of Hermon played follow the leader up front, Ryan Deane of Winterport was putting on a show, working his way up from his eighth place starting spot to a solid third place finish. Deane used the inside groove to pass eventual fourth place finisher Brenton Parritt of Steuben and Dave St. Clair of Liberty who finished fifth. Deane held the third spot from lap 28, while Parritt and St. Clair battled for their finishing positions, which weren’t decided until lap 33 of the 35 lap race. Hopkins and Swoboda were both winners of the qualifying events, placing them on the front row for the feature. (more…)

Patrick Laperle Wins Série ACT Castrol Season Opener at Autodrome Chaudiere

Vallee-Jonction, QC – St-Denis, QC’s Patrick Laperle wins the Série ACT Castrol season opener at Autodrome Chaudiere on Saturday, May 21. Laperle started on the pole position after earning a plus four in the plus-minus handicap system. The former Série ACT Castrol and ACT Late Model Tour Champion battled for the majority of the event with defending Série ACT Castrol Champion Karl Allard from St-Felicien, QC.

The two swapped the lead several times until Laperle took over for good on lap 63. Allard still fought on the outside on multiple restarts before spinning on a lap 144 restart and hitting the wall coming out of turn four.

USLCI Drivers and Dealers

After a long winter, racing season is here – finally. We had a great off season at USLCI and INEX and the 2011 racing season has started off very well. There are a lot of exciting things being planned.

Last year the new Federal tire made its debut and the reviews have all been very positive on this tire. We are excited about our long term partnership with Federal. Due to the rising prices of the key components in the construction of automotive tires (steel, natural rubber and oil) tire prices around the world have increased. US Legend Cars International race tires have not been immune to the increase. (more…)

Where it all Begins.

Most drivers get their start in racing by driving go-karts then moving up to Allison Series Racing or Legends cars, before moving on to race in Late Models, Pro Stocks or even Modified’s.

Austin Teras, is the driver of the #29 Cushman Competition go-kart. He is competing in the Boxstock Series at Richmond Kart Speedway (RKS). The Boxstock’s series is the third tier of racing go-karts at RKS, the drivers age are from 6-11 years old. This is the 1st division of go-kart racing, where the drivers race for points.
