Miles Chipman Wins NH Gov. Cup 150 at Lee USA

Lee, NH – Lee USA Speedway regular Miles Chipman earned his first career ACT Late Model Tour win in the NH Governor’s Cup 150 on his hometrack on Friday, June 11. Chipman battled with fellow Lee competitor Wayne Helliwell for the majority of the event before taking over for good on lap 105.

The race was completed in 56 minutes and 41 seconds with just two caution periods. Forty cars attempted to qualify for the event which was previously scheduled to be the season opener back in April before being postponed due to rain.

Joey Polewarczyk Jr. of Hudson, N.H., finished 8th in the ACT Late Model Tour NH Governor’s Cup 150 at Lee USA Speedway on Friday night, June 11. Polewarczyk needed to qualify through the consolation round after a mechanical issue in his heat race, leaving him in 25th starting spot. He rallied for his first top-10 finish of the season and first top-10 with a Ford Racing crate engine.

(Stafford Springs, CT)—Stafford Motor Speedway returned to racing action
with the 37th Annual Coors Light SK Modified® 100 on Friday, June 11th.
Keith Rocco defended his 100-lap victory from one year ago and scored his
fourth win of the 2010 season, Ryan Posocco picked up his first win of the
2010 season and the 40th win of his Late Model career at Stafford in the
30-lap Late Model feature, Frank Cardile scored his second victory of 2010
in the 20-lap SK Light Modified feature, Dan Flannery scored his third win
of 2010 in the 20-lap Limited Late Model feature, and Cory Casagrande picked
up his second win of 2010 in the 15-lap DARE Stock feature.
In the 37th Annual Coors Light 100-lap SK Modified® feature event, Brit
Andersen took the early race lead, but the caution came out with one lap
complete for a multi-car incident in turn 3 involving Jeff Baral, Frank

The 16-year-old Theriault, who is competing for the series’ Rookie of the Year award in 2010, rallied from 18th starting spot to earn his first top-10 in a touring series race of any kind.

Barre, VT – Stars of Barre’s Thunder Road International Speedbowl will continue their 2010 stock car championship run this Sunday, June 13 with a special Ferguson Waterworks twilight event. Kids will get their chance to ride the Barre highbanks with their favorite Thunder Road drivers including the 2010 Mekkelsen RV Memorial Day Classic Champion Dave Pembroke, 2010 Merchants Banks 150 winner Nick Sweet, as well as former “Kings of the Road” Senator Phil Scott and Cris Michaud.

Montpelier’s Pembroke will look to make it an extraordinary three straight Thunder Road feature wins after taking checkers in the Thunder Road Late Model 100 at Devils Bowl Speedway and the Memorial Day Classic at Thunder Road. But he will have to hold off the likes of Barre’s Nick Sweet who dominated the 2010 Merchants Bank 150 and appeared to be a contender on Memorial Day before spinning out while fighting for the lead. Trevor Sanborn of Parsonsfield, Maine, returns to full-time PASS North Series competition with Richard Moody Racing this weekend as the series heads to the Pro All Stars Series 200 at Speedway 660 in Fredericton, New Brunswick. Sanborn last ran a full schedule with RMR in 2008, and he finished third while driving the RMR No. 44 at White Mountain Motorsports Park last month. After winning back-to-back 40-lap Pro Series features to open the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series season at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway, Sanborn and Moody reached agreement for Sanborn to run the remaining 11 races on the 2010 schedule and compete for the championship. Sanborn trails Mike Rowe by two points atop the PASS North standings.
