Hudson NH –The Helliwell boys ruled at Hudson International Speedway on the final race day of the 2010 season. All three Helliwells that were racing won in their respective divisions with George Helliwell in the Classic Lites, Bill Helliwell in the Rookie Stocks and Dave ”Hollywood” Helliwell in the Roadrunners.
George Helliwell was first to win picking up his second feature win in the Classic Lites. Billy Ryder was second to cross the stripe. Dwayne Skofield finished third. Shane Reinhold had his best finish of the season with a fourth place run. Eddie Gilman was running third most of the race and had third by a large margin on the white flag lap but got sideways in turn one and drove through the infield and by the time he was back on track had slipped to fifth and finished in that spot. Sixth through tenth were Ryan Bishop, Paul Colson, Danny Shields, Craig Lambert and Hulk Harton. Helliwell and Shields won the heats.

Smith Takes Another Shot at NASCAR
Waterbury, VT – Thunder Road International Speedbowl sophomore Late Model driver Dylan Smith of Randolph, will take his second swing at earning a spot on the Revolution Racing team as part of the NASCAR Drive for Diversity program. The Revolution team competes on the NASCAR K&N Pro East Series and the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series.

NEAR HALL OF FAME CLASS OF 2011 ANNOUNCED
Literally hundreds of victories and dozens of championships are represented in the New England Auto Racer’s Hall of Fame “Class of 2011.”
Drivers Punky Caron, Dan Meservey, Russ Nutting and Jerry Dolliver, car owners Rich & Ray Garuti, Stanley “Skip” Matczak, Vic Kangas, and Speedway Scene publisher Val Lesieur will be inducted at the 14th annual induction ceremony slated to take place on January 30th at the LaRenaissance Banquet Hall in East Windsor, CT.

NETS 2010 SEASON CHAMPION POINTS RACE
FINISH AT THE WORLD SERIES EVENT
The New England Truck Series Championship season point’s race was held Saturday October 16th at Thompson International Speedway World Series Event with a close contention in points this season for the first NETS Champion in this new series.

McKennedy Grabs Fourth Victory With Twin State Win
Claremont, N.H. — Modified Racing Series point leader Jon McKennedy, of E. Chelmsford, MA, captured the 100-lap Twin State Fall Challenge feature race at the Twin State Speedway, Claremont, NH., Sunday afternoon. The win was McKennedy’s fourth of the season, his eleventh career victory, and his second win at the New Hampshire speedway. McKennedy widened his point lead by 61 points over Dwight Jarvis, Ascutney, VT.

TREMBLAY CAPTURES DEMOLITION EVENT WHILE MONSTER TRUCKS THRILL FANS DURING SEASON FINALE AT CENTRE FOR SPEED
(Shediac, N.B.) – Andre Tremblay (#49) of St. Lois de Kent captured a hard-fought victory in the 15-car Demolition Derby event while five top-ranked Monster Trucks thrilled fans who stayed glued to their seats throughout a steady drizzle during Saturday’s season finale event at the Centre for Speed (CFS) during the ATLANTIC MONSTER TRUCK NATIONALS 2010 event.

Thompson, CT (October 17, 2010): Ted Christopher of Plainville, CT, used “home field” advantage to score the victory in the Whelen Modified Tour. By virtue of his sixth-place finish, Bobby Santos, III of Franklin, MA, scored his first Whelen Modified Tour Championship and the second straight for car owner Bob Garbarino. Chris Perley of Rowley, MA, was super at Thompson taking home the victory in the International Supermodified Association (ISMA) feature event. Russ Wood of Pelham, NH, was crowned the 2010 ISMA champion. In Northeastern Midget Association action, Randy Cabral of Plymouth, MA won the war winning the feature event but it was Russ Stoehr of Bridgewater, MA winning the 2010 championship. In Thompson regular divisions it was Ronnie Silk of Norwalk, CT, taking down the victory in the Sunoco Modifieds, Rick Fuller of Auburn, MA, in the Super Late Models and Tommy O’Sullivan Late Models.
